A bit expensive, but in Stockholm, everything is a bit expensive. I definitely recommed it.

It was not the most charming hostel I have ever been to. The atmosphere was OK but not more. The staff was friendly and the location is great. BTW linen cost you 50 kronor extra.

Awesome hostel. The staff are friendly and eager to help. Very social atmosphere which helps when traveling alone. Very secure as well. Would have preferred more showers closer to the upstairs rooms and there is no oven in the kitchen. There are also lots of tours that are easy to book and reasonably priced. One of the best ive stayed in!

Staff helpfull all the time, super clean, good kitchen and a lot of very good computers. Enough bathrooms for the guests ( i never had to wait!!!! And it was fully booked). Each room has its refrigerator, great idea! The problem? The guests! Or, i have to say, the English boys at my room for the first night!! Awfull and disreapectfull people, i could hear them even with earplugs. But , well, not the hostels fault.

Great hostel conveniently located near the main train station in Stockholm and within easy walking distance of most tourist sights in the city. There was a good atmosphere in the common areas and it was very easy to meet and talk to new people, the staff on reception were also very nice and helpful, they answered all questions and offered good ideas for sightseeing and places to eat and drink etc. The breakfast of a sandwich, tea/coffee and juice falls a little short though, that could better.

The hostel has been over-advertised, and I felt underwhelmed coming there. Yes, the sauna is free, but only for 2 hours. Yes, there are skates, but they are dull. Also, such basic things as towels and bedsheets are not free. That felt like an advertising trap.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff and great communal area to meet other travelers. Make sure you let them know in advance if you are arriving after 11 so you can get the door code in advance. We were left out in the cold until someone else arrived. I highly recommend the Viking sauna tour!!

Hi, I'm sorry you weren't completely happy with your stay here, but I can't figure out what went wrong with the WiFi - it works everywhere in the hostel, free and without a password. Very good point about the plugs for the top bunks, though. The room you're staying in was renovated before the penny dropped - nowadays we always make sure there are sockets in the top beds when ever we renovate. But it's nice to hear you would like to come back and stay with us again! Cheers, Lena

i enjoyed my stay at this hostel....everything was tidy, security was good....and the place had a friendly vibe The only thing i did not like is having to pay for linen.....it makes no sense to me...

Loved this hostel! Great lean rooms with big lockers and clean proper showers and a fantastic kitchen and common area. The activities the hostel provided were amazing (cooking classes and especially sauna tour in winter!). Really enjoyed the stay here and would definetly come back again.

Nice place to stay, although they seem to have an outdated system that makes check in check out really slow. Also the cafe is only open in the morning and it would be a nice place to hang out in the evenings or afternoons. But it was a nice clean hostel with good amenities in a good location.

Thanks for the feedback. You have a good point with both of your remarks. Not many guests used the café when it was open all day, so we decided to change the opening hours. Now we are keeping it open for guest activities like film nights and cooking meatballs, and we are thinking about how to make the best use of the space in the future. Check in takes a while, you are right about that, but check out? There is no check out at all! That's one of the reasons check in takes a little longer, because we get everything sorted out at once so that there is no need for checking out. But everything can always improve, of course. We'll see if we can figure something out! Cheers, Lena

Everyone was very nice to me. I've even received personal advice on the best places in Stockholm! It was a great stay and would recommend it to anyone. A very casual atmosphere!

The location is perfect, very close to Central Station. The entrance looks very nice but the inside is not so nice. Still nice, but not that much. My room was pretty small, I booked a bed in a room with 7, but actually there were 8. I would say the kitchen, entrance, showers, internet room are very nice, but the rooms not that much. By the way, if you are looking for a quite place where you want to relax, go somewhere else, but if you are alone looking for tripmates, it's the perfect place!

The hotel is very well located - 3 mins from the Main train station - T-Centralen, but the map on the site was very poor and no local was able to give me correct directions. Finally I had to take a taxi, as the staff at the reception would not asnwer the phone. As a swedish tradition, they say you have to take your shoes off inside the hostel - I found that little incinveninent as not all guests would do that. Also, you have to pay separately for bed sheets an towel ~6€ plus.

Hi, I'm sorry about all the trouble you had to go through, and do apologise that we didn't answer the phone when you called. We are having work done to our phone system as we speak, since it is not as efficient as we would like it, but of course that is little comfort to you. Reading your comment takes me back to all the cities I've arrived in without a clue how to get anywhere... an obligatory when it comes to backpacking, it seems! I am responsible of our web page, so it's my fault you couldn't find your way. Honestly, I keep re-writing those directions, but no matter how hard I try to make them crystal clear, there is always that one person who gets completely lost. It's such a shame, because it is really easy to get her from the central station, and close, just like you said. I think when you get lost like that, you get a really negative start to the relationship with the hostel, and there's a risk that you keep finding faults the rest of your stay. Because most of our guests find it nice to be able to walk barefoot from the showers without stepping in Swedish winter slush dragged in by fellow travellers... I hope you had a nice time in Stockholm in spite of being disappointed with City Backpackers. Kind regards Lena

Definitely worth staying here! Only thing: if you like to have a light breakfast it's ok, but otherwise don't pay for it and look for a nice bakery...

The hostel provides an excellent opportunity for meeting other travellers. The kitchen facilities are also excellent, and the staff very nice and helpful. Would recommend the place for anyone looking for a hostel in Stockholm. The location is central - especially since Stockholm is not that large of a city - but in hindsight we might have preferred staying somewhere in Södermalm.

The PC does not install Microsoft Office, which is very inconvenient to travelers to edit files. The only four nice PCs are all Apple, which is not compatible to many other electronic accessories. Sauna rooms are good but some other travelers may not respect the time and break in the room at the hour males should been there:(

Best hostel I've been so far. very friendly staffs with high level of knowledge of the Stockholm. The hostel has interesting policy to take off your shoes before entering the lobby area (Swedish culture). Security is very well with different lock numbers everyday but sometimes a bit bothering. free wi-fi, printing, sauna, and skates! Good place to interact with other people too. but they don't have lift for big suitcase. Still, highly recommended!

Everywhere were very clean and rooms were very good atmosphere like a modern house! One annoying thing was partition in a shower room in female dormitory were half transparent, it made a nervousness when I take a shower. Other things were totally fine! Good accesses to Central station and town centre. Thank you!
