The hostel overall is good. The internet can be slow or down but I'm finding that to be normal in Switzerland. Everything is Zurich is expensive so even though this place was more than other cities it's kind of relative to the cost of the city. I just didn't find Zurich a place that I would want to visit again but the hostel was not the problem.
Terrible hostel for two reasons: 1. The girl staff member is awful and I heard so from multiple other guests as well. An attitude and attempts to help you with nothing. 2. Hostel totally nickel-and-dimes you every step of the way. 3 Francs for sheets?! Explanation was that some ppl come w sheets and it costs that much to wash--um no, extremely few travelers allocate space for sheets and you can wash 25 sheets for 3 francs. This is just a way to make money off your guests. Nice terrace.
- bad smell of paint inside the building. - to reach the reception you need to walk up many many stairs. - typical fake-Swiss style-greedy attitude of the receptionist charging for every single thing - payment by card, towel, sheets... even the internet connection (if I wanted to spend lots of money I would rather stay in a 5 star hotel, not in a youth hostel). - the only computer available in the hostel was broken.

The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful but the building below us was having some major refurbishment and the first three floors were covered in dust, smelling of paint and very dangerous because the power cables for the workers were laid across the steps. The work started at 7am and finished at 6pm and was extremely noisy. Hostel World should have warned us about this because they had plenty of time as we booked in advance and I would have gone somewhere else.

I only stayed one night, but this was an excellent hostel. It was quick and easy to find and well marked. The staff was pleasant and helpful and was a nice place to crash. I would have certainly used the rooftop area if I had been staying there longer. It is quite a few stairs to the floors occupied by the hostel, so my rolling bag wasn't the most convenient, but doable. Would stay again. :)

I enjoyed my stay here. Great location right in the old town, super helpful and friendly staff. Only few things, theres construction work down stairs so mornings were noisy and they need more bowls and spoons. I had to keep going to different kitchens to find what I needed as every floor has it's own kitchen and bathroom. No point whinging about price, it's Switzerland. I'd recommend it .
This is not a hostel. You get your own apartment with your own bathroom and kitchen, it was GREAT! Since it's not a hostel/hotel there is no front desk to check in, anyways the person that we were meeting to give us the keys was super nice!!! We got there late and he was waiting for us in the front door of the apartment and after showing us the place gave us a lot of good tips to visit the city! I will definitely stay in the same place next time im in Budapest!
Great location in the heart of zurich and close to the train station.
Certain employees were very helpful. But the office closes at 10 pm making it difficult or impossible for late arriving guests to register. Management sticks an extra charge on cc purchases which is a violation.
As unjustifiably pricey as most things in Switzerland, but an excellent location.
Very central. The roof top terrace was good for socialising. The rooms were small no air conditioning so very hot and we're not up to scratch with clenlyness also the bathroom facilities were small and minimal.
Absolutely fantastic location, and the price is excellent considering the cost of other hotels in Zurich. Staff was helpful with planning activities in and around Zurich as well. Only downside is there were only 2 toilettes and 2 showers for the entire floor (20 some odd beds). Would recommend.
The location is quite good and near the station. But there is no air conditioner and quite expensive
Really great location near the old town. Facilities are good, although fans/air con in the dorms would have been nice - obliged to have windows wide open at night in this hot summer heat, and of course it's noisy on streets below.
There was no hot water anywhere in the building and half the time I could only get a dribble of water out of the shower because the pressure was so bad. The building was also extremely hot and up several flights of stairs with no elevators. The wifi barely worked as well. Overall I would not recommend, not worth the price you pay
Great staff, very helpful. Lacking any atmosphere but over all not a bad place to rest your head.
Clean! Fast wifi! Have a nice terrace on the top floor and friendly staff! 5 min walk to the Zurich HB station and the location of this hostel is just perfect.
I had my problems to find it because it's situated in a small alley. It was very expensive but typical for Switzerland so it was ok, staff was friendly and the rooms clean, but unfortunately it was unbelievable hot. Bathroom was ok as well - all in all: average hostel
Linen should be included in the price and would be great to have breakfast
