Came late but staff (Alan and Elliot) were really understanding and helpful. Top shelf lads. They were a bit overbooked so they actually upgraded me to my own private room. No extra charge! Would stay there again

Great hostel- close enough to walk to the city centre but not so that it's too loud, nice facilities too (kitchen/bathroom), though we didn't use all of them- best part was probably the staff, especially Alan- went out of his way to make our stay as comfy and easy as possible, as well as recommending good places to go. Didn't spend as much time talking to Elliot but he too seemed nice and approachble when helping us checkout- overall would definitely recommend.

Staff was awesome and friendly, but the hostel is a bit out of the way (though in Edinburgh that just means a 15-minute walk instead of a 2-minute walk), no lockers, and it's more of a do-your-own thing kind of place than a social hostel (which was fine). Worth the price.

A good 15-20 minute walk to the centre, plenty of other hostels closer (look at them!). They presumed our 3 guests were female and changed our booking without notifying us to an all girl room. Out of our party of 3, 1 was, in fact, male. They then spent 40 minutes working out where we to sleep us, as they tried to split us into different rooms! We were then put in a room where the key only worked when it wanted to. Bathroom was dirty and not cleaned once while we stayed the 3 nights.

Nice building and rooms, very-very friendly staff. Just 10 minutes walk from the Castle, lot of shops (Sainsbury's Local, Co-Operative Food) and fast restaurants, bakeries in the area. And it was very inexpensive as well! I totally recommend it!
