Big comfortable beds in dorm room and great location right next to the bus station and night market
The hostel is really in the center of the city, so it's perfect to take buses or to go out in the night, they also offer a supertour in the north of Thailand that is really spectacular and supercheap. But the hostel is not so clean, the staff almost doesn't speak any english and the money you spent are too much for what they offer compare to the Thailand standard.
This guest house was clearly under construction when I arrived after booking in advance. They should not have been taking reservations as they were not properly staffed and the facilities were not ready for guests. I'm sure it's normally fine, but they really should have suspended online booking during their renovations.
I though that the toilets we're quite dirty and smelt. The bedroom was quite clean though. I just didn't think the staff we\re that enthusiastic about running a hostel properly.

Bed, toilets, Wifi, free tea and coffee all for 140 Baht per night in the dorm. Lockers in the dorm. Clean sheets! what more do you need. May be a bit dusty as there are roadworks outside but they will be finished soon. All said, it's really handy for the bus station and the night market.
This hostel is highy overrated. It's just average. The bathroom wasn't clean at all. There were no people except for me and another guy. Only thing I really liked about this hostel was the location: very close to the busstation.
not too sure why its recommended in the lonely planet. it was very average. i went during rainy season but i was the only person in my 6 bedroom dorm, and im pretty sure in the hostel in general. rooms were very basic, uncomfortable woollen bedding. staff were nice and it was reasonable for the most part, but definitely nothing worth writing home about.
The staff of the hostel couldn't speak English at all. Even when trying in easy words and a lot of gestures, they couldn't help us.. We slept in a dorm, our beds looked clean, but when we went in we could feel the sand on the matress. I wouldn't recommend staying in this hostel.
Pros: free coffee in the morning. Very friendly staff. Cozy beds. Cons: many mosquitos in the bathroom. The doors of the bathrooms are broken!
