City Hostel Geneva Reviews

Atmosphere was dead throughout a Thursday evening, reception desk was nominally open until midnight but staff spent significant amount of time on break with the desk closed off, reception didn't open before 7:30am so I couldn't use my padlock overnight, rooms/showers were tiny and of two roommates one was an older businessman who snored like a diesel engine.

You can hear the trains at night

A little expensive for what it offers. The rooms have no comfort at all. For that price you should expect at least a breakfast included.

Excellent facilities, excellent location. Very close to the train station. We enjoyed our stay here. Definitely would like to visit again. Just one suggestion that adding one sign board to turn left from Rue de laussane will make locating the hostel better.

일단 위치가 별로..밤늦게 도착했는데 캐리어 끌고 가기에 꽤 멀고 여자 둘이라 그랬는지 가는 길이 위험해보였다. 화장실과 샤워실이 남녀 공용이라 불편했지만 그래도 직원은 아주 친절하고 좋음

You should take a lock with you or you will need to rent one at the reception or leave your locker open. It has hair dryers in the bathroom and the showers are good.

You get what you pay for. In a city as expensive as Geneva, it was good. Bit next time I'll invest more money for a different place.

Bright and clean rooms. Comfortable stay. A bit expensive but afterall it's in Geneva.

Is ok, i was 2 nights, is near from the downtown, is clean, a little small, but is ok

pleasantly surprised at how clean, modern and comfortable it was.

Loved the Wi-Fi.availability in the rooms. Location was awesome only a few minutes walk from the train station. A little hard to find at first but easy to get to. Really great quality for what I paid. I WILL go back to that hostel.

IT WAS A VERY NICE HOSTEL NEAR THE CITY CENTRE WITH VERY FRIENDLY STAFF AND GOOD FACILITIES. I RECOMMEND IT

unfortunately had to cancel my stay due to hurting my back in car accident. hoped my back would be better in time so waited to last minute to cancel unfortunately i based it on california time as they expect 48 hours cancellation. check in was 2pm tuesday and i cacelled at 12:15pm on sunday. i thought it was 48 hours but received a note stating late cancellation. had i been in europe this would not have happened.was told in a curt note i would be charge 1 nite. seems like bad customer service

lots of restaurants and supermarkets around the hostel,close to the main station. clean shower room and kitchen. all the staff were very helpful. I will go back again to stay.

Very very good hostel!

Had a overall excellent stay here people in reception where very helpful and the free travel pass was a plus with the nearest tram station MOLE just round the corner it is prob one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed in but everything was small including kitchen. Also if you stay on the first floor make sure you shower on the second no push down Taps that seem to be the trend in Switzerland plus really powerful and again they where always spotless! Would defo stay here again.

During check-in when we began to make our payments the female receptionist turned to her coworker and in French said "typical americans" (to our discretion - for no apparent reason), with the assumption that none of us spoke french - which in fact, I did. I was extremely disturbed that a professional would say this plain and clear about a foot in front of a pay customer, it was rude, and afterwards she continued to provide us with absolutely no information. I would not recommend City Hostel.

Very Clean but 3 person room a bit cramped there is always a movie on at 8 at night, but kitchen very small plus you have to buy a key for putting your stuff in the Fridge and a dry cupboard no cooker and the Micro wave was not one of the best :-( but there is 4 cooking rings, showers are powerful but the room is very small when you walk out of the shower you have to stand in the shower to open the Door ???? Its a 6 minute walk from the main Train Station, and a 12 minute walk to the lake :-)

Good hotel to stay. Good position, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms cleans. I would come back

Good place to stay, almost like a hotel with free soap and towels! They sell chocolate and swiss army knives for cheaper than the giftshops outside, would highly recommend buying there. The only down side was that the wifi was not working properly when we were there, but they said they were working on fixing it.
