Staff extremely friendly and try to be as helpful as possible. Bathrooms appeared cleaner than most hostels, while the rooms were just kinda clean (had that ever-present stinky feet smell that many hostel dorms have). Location is good, considering it's easy to get anywhere in Seattle and you'll still find some decent restaurants and bars nearby. It's also near the touristy stuff. If you're looking for the more 'happening' spot, you'd probably want to go to the Capitol Hill area.

It was the first time for me in a Hostel and I really enjoyed my stay there, also it was just for one night. I felt really secure, the stuff was so helpful und friendly und the location is perfect! You can walk nearly everything in Downtown from this location!! for breakfast you can choose between some fruits, bread, jam, peanut butter, coffee and tea. Everything you need for a good start in your Day in Seattle! I really can recommend this hostel!!

Great hostel, easy to find, safe area, awesome japanese food place near, great local bar next door to watch sports. Room was tiny, bed was great though, no A/C room mates, you can't pick and they were annoying. Safe were unreal, more than helpful, friendly and always had a smile Would def stay again though, just a really clean awesome place with a great location. just needs a better social aspect, had no nightly events, bit hard to meet people on your own here.

Great hostel with comfy rooms, and proper mattresses! Staff were the best particularly Britney who was so helpful throughout my stay. Bonus facilities: Hot-tub and movie theatre were great however the kitchens were a bit small. Luckily it wasn't too busy and people seemed to eat out a lot. Hostel is in a great location however website directions don't state how far the walk is from the train station. Its a good 6 blocks uphill which can be a bit of a struggle with luggage on a hot day

It's a nice place, art in the rooms is a nice touch. Breakfast could have more variety. Towel rentals are weird, most hostels i have been before will lend you a towel included with your bed sheets.

Very nice entry/lobby area. Most staff were friendly & attentive. Unfortunately, the employee who checked us in was not. Our group of 4 arrived at the same time as someone else. Things got confusing when my Hostelworld confirmation showed we owed one amount & then he told us that didn't include the Washington/Seattle hotel tax so he gave us a new amount. Then we realized he didn't consider I'd already paid a $30 deposit. Also,I called earlier & was told all linens included.Towels actually werent

Very clean, good facilities everywhere. Less of a communal aspect I think since it's fairly large, but fine.

City Hostel is awesome: it's a beautiful old building with tons of local art inside. Its a great location, being right in between pike market and the space needle and right around the corner from a bus hub! you can literally go anywhere. It was very clean, everyones friendly and when i walked in the staff was playing K-pop on their tv screen - aka everything was awesome.

Really cool hostel! I loved the paintings on the walls and the atmosphere there. The staff was so nice and always really helpfull! Really cool was the cinemaroom in the basement and the jacuzzy. Which hostel could offer that. The breakfast was also not too bad. Got some flakes, toast and coffee.

I wanted to love this hostel. The reviews are consistently high, the staff is great, and the building is clean/secure/well-located. The atmosphere was a little unusual to me, though. I met some wonderful people, but it just sort of felt like the guests weren't clicking with one another for some reason. And I do realize that judging a hostel by something it has no control over - the guests' collective personalities - is a bit unfair. Hopefully my time there was an exception, and not the norm.

It was my first time to stay in hostel. I was worried about sharing a room with other people but that was unnecessary. It was a quite big room and has own locker. Also they give me a free breakfast. Cereal, Fruits, Bread, Jam and Coffee etc. Such a great time to use the City Hostel Seattle!
