This is my third time staying at City Hostel Seattle and as they say, "third time's a charm"! While the room and other facilities were absolutely spotless as always, what made this particular visit the best was the staff. Every single one of them was more kind, knowledgeable and considerate than ever! They really made the difference during my stay! Great location, great facilities... my choice for staying in Seattle! I will be back!
Great stay, very friendly staff and good location. Wish I could stay longer!
Super awesome staff. Cool common room, library, computer room and MOVIE THEATRE!! Heaps of bathrooms and kitchens and everything you'll need. Excellent nightlife area - so many bars and restaurants etc.
Hostel was adequate. Rooms clean. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. Breakfast terrible. Good wifi. Library, not a book swap - silly idea when a lot of people only stay one night - read 20 pages then have to give back the book. Staff were very polite and helpful. Pretty good location. Six bed dorm only had four lockers. Overall, would recommend.
Great central place to stay, just a short walk to EMP, space needle, pike market, downtown, pier, etc.. The atmosphere was very dynamic,a lot of young people around to hang out with. Also the staff was great and very helpful.
Really enjoyed my stay here- but on the Sunday morning of our check out, there was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms! :( hopefully next time this isn't a problem!
Hostel was in a good location for exploring tons of things on foot. My only complaint was that my room's heat didn't seem to come on, so it was chilly. When I asked the staff, they said the heat didn't come on until the evening (2-3am) and they didn't have any space heaters. They gave me an extra blanket which was helpful but my room was definitely colder than the hallways.

This is an awesome hostel that unfortunately has one major issue. It's noisy. And I mean, REALLY noisy. They have hardwood floors everywhere but the rooms, and the sound just carries. There is also no policy of "quiet after 10pm" like a lot of hostels have. A shame as otherwise this is a really great hostel, with awesome staff. If you are a heavy sleeper, by all means stay here.
The artwork all over is a very cool touch. I also really liked that there are a few bathrooms on each floor; some are only toilet/sink rooms, others only shower rooms and others both. This practically guarantees no lines/waiting. Small in-room sinks too. Also kitchens on every floor, which would be quite handy. The building was quite clean, except the carpets could have used a shampoo, and cooking smells seemed to linger. No elevator (I think it's only 3 floors) but lots of other amenities.
Great stay! Very clean, great location to the pier and space needle! Great stuff seattle! Couldn't stop the rain only downpour!!!
The staff are the best thing about this hostel- so friendly and will do anything to help you out. The 4 bed dorm rooms are spacious and ours was very quiet. I paid for an en-suite dorm but to be honest I wouldn't bother- there are tons of bathrooms on each floor so you never have to wait. Cons: too few plug sockets in the rooms. Also, on my last night they switched on the heating. The room was BAKING and stank of burning, and the radiator made a whining noise all night. Did not sleep well!
Superfriendly and helpful staff, good location with downtown and uptown in walking distance and several pubs right around the corner, basic but good breakfast (toast, cereals, fruit, coffee and tea), rooms and bathrooms were clean - we would definitely stay here again.
I was pretty happy with the location of the hostel. When I first checked into the City Hostel Seattle, it was before the check-in time. I was allowed to drop my stuff off and store it at the hostel, and I was happy with the security of that procedure. Everybody on staff was very helpful when it came to directions and the bus routes. They were super friendly. The place was clean. I only wish the lockers had been larger and they had had an elevator - although staff helped me carry my heavy bags up
I don't really know what else you'd want. Free breakfast is cool, it's better than a hotel continental breakfast for sure. They manage to keep the rooms pretty packed so there's always people checking in late at night and waking up really early to leave, so it might bother a really light sleeper.

Super friendly staff, girl behind the front desk was also very cute. Pretty good location, the usual amount of drug addicts on the streets outside. Awesome bars on the same street, esp one a few doors down which has a pinball room in back!
Mural is pretty cool there. different space with different style and story. pretty new and clean. Free breakfast also good!!!
Hostel is located in downtown close to the Spaceneedle. Thats great. Stuff is very very friendly. Building is very old but they made the best of it.
Great location, friendly and helpful, staff. A bit noisy due to bars nearby but otherwise a good place to stay.
