The staff at the hostel were very friendly and helpful, the room was the biggest I've stayed in on my trip so far. It was also almost half the price of a room in NYC or SF. There seems to be a good community feel at the hostel too, everyone eats breakfast together, show movies in the evening with open mic nights too. However, I wasn't prepared for the sheer number of dealers in the neighbourhood!!! No I'm not looking for anything, thanks for asking. As soon as it gets dark, they all come out.

Slightly out of the way but otherwise a really good hostel. Very satisfying loud clunking noise when you unlock the front doors at night, nobody's getting through those bad boys without a key.

This was easily one of the best hostels I have stayed at. Spotless rooms decorated creatively by local artists and super-friendly staff helped make my time at the City Hostel a time to remember fondly. Lots of great food places in the area and a strip of late-night bars and dives just opposite the hostel made it ideally located for nightlife. Highly recommended.

Great in and out of hostel. Located in up & coming area w/charming stores & eats nearby. Unpretentious, helpful staff. Make sure to grab a heater (in limited supply). Hotel quality-private room since friend doesn't share bathrooms =). Aesthetically-pleasing walls & decor. No mystery stains to account for. Communal-style breakfast w/staff member checking up on ppl. Downsides: Sink's located outside of bathroom so creates a watery mess. Broken bath. door. Guests doing their own thing. No events.

Great hostel! Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms/common areas were always clean. There are plenty of bathrooms so you won't have to wait to use the loo (or shower). Location is within walking distance to all major attractions. At night there seems to be a few "seedy" people hanging around the area, but they're harmless (more annoying than anything). Building is very secure (you need your room key to get in) which is great. I would definitely stay here again!!! Oh, there's also a hot tub :)

The hostel is located within the free-ride-zone where you don't need to pay for public buses as long as you stay within the zone and travel between 6am and 7pm. You can also hop on to the free tourist bus 99 nearby which travels in a loop and brings you to many tourist attractions. However, if you are a light sleeper, this place may not be suitable as you can hear the noise from the pub next door even after past mid-night.

this is a great hostel. I realml enjoyed it, but I didn't spend a lot of time there. I wish the hot tub would stay open later. the bed was really firm; I could feel the springs. typical flat pillow. I loved the art throughout. I also found MOST of the staff helpful. I would stay here again.

General condition is ok. But the neighbour hood is bad. Everyday it was too noisy. So during my 3 days stay, i nearly couldn't sleep. If you ask me to whether i'm gonna stay here for my next visit to Seattle, I'll say no way.

Nice Hostel, but they don't really think about the groups, who have to share the rooms. Ages are making no differences...

This was probably the most lovely hostel I have stayed in.You can tell the owners have put a lot of love into it. We heard a rumor around town that this place use to be an art gallery and they would throw big parties here. Not much of a party vibe anymore, you'll definitely get good sleep here though. They staff is friendly and helpful, it's clean with good location- Belltown has good bars and coffee and is a short walk from Pike Place. Check out the Capitol hill neighborhood for more action.

Location is excellent, staff super friendly and helpful. The rooms are cool, 4-bed-dorm was quite roomy. The art work all over the place is very neat. Didn't like the mattress of my bed, very springy so to speak. It was also fairly loud, like some generator noise coming from the central yard, not sure. Slept okay with ear plugs, though, which is recommended for any Hostel visit. Overall I'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.

Hostel was okay. Many weird people hanging around in the area at night but hostel itself felt quite safe. Breakfast was very good, A/C in rooms would be nice, staff was helpful and friendly, cleanliness was good, very close to Space Needle (could actually see it from my room) and location in general was quite okay (apart from the weird people). No problems getting around since there's a free downtown bus. Overall good stay!

Staff were awesome from the incredibly friendly welcome to directions, the drop-box, where to go and what to do. Room was very clean & tidy, bathrooms cleaned & mopped daily. All in all, excellent. The only thing missing was an on-site bar to mingle with the other guests. Happily, the bar across the street filled in nicely. Highly recommended.

Receptionists turned the music on in the robby, it was very very noisy!!!!! At that time, I wanted to do "skype" but Internet didn't work very well, I asked stuff where the strongest wi-fi zone is. They said "it's robby" but there was no situation to be able to do "skype" because it was toooooooo noisy!! However except for that, it was not bad. When wi-fi didn't work very well, it was sorted out by stuff since one guy asked about that. Next day, receptionists changed, then, it wasn't noisy.
