City hostel is located a few kms far away from the train & bus station. Quiet area and ir a few minutes walking from the main square and the city center. The owner lives there. Clean beds and bathroom. Reccommended for people who wants to relax and chill out.

Absolutely brilliant hostel - good location, easy to walk to city centre, but still in a quiet and safe area. The staff were fantastic, providing a family feel. The owner is very keen to pair guests up to share taxis to the airport, or lake Matka, or Ohrid.

Hostel is very close to all kind of shops and very cheap bakery. It is only 7min walking from the city centre, but area is very quite. Bobi was very helpful - even found a driver for us who took us to Matka Lake when streets were flooded :) Highly recommended.

Great hostel owner is very accommodating and excellent to deal with...warm friendly environment and very helpful staff. Walk into the city is about 10 minutes with many shops and cafes along the way...thanks for a great stay.

This was a nice hostel set back in a quiet neighborhood and only a 15 min walk to the city center. Breakfast was good. Walls could use a fresh coat of paint and furniture/decor was a little dated, but was fine. They provided clean sheets & towels. Also had an old computer to check email, as well as wireless if you brought your own. We stayed in 3-bed room on top floor, but it was very hot, so I would recommend asking for a lower room if it's summer.

Stefan is a great helpful guy and I like that the hostel had a garden/yard.. Also free internet! Note that by walk the hostel is around 15 min to Macedonian Square and 20 min to the old town. 1 thing more: I am not sure if this is the hostel or coincidence, but I "have to" say this. The 1st day after my stay in Skopje, I got itchy and the following days I noticed around 25-30 bug bites around my legs and arms. I am not accusing the hostel, but there's a chance it might have happened there.

It has the best staff I have ever seen so far. Very very helpful and provided us a very good reception. If you go to Skopje, this is the place to stay. The rooms don't have AC, but they are still very fresh, despite the hot weather there. The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathroom in the ground floor. Nevertheless I would definitely stay there again.

This was a lovely hostel with a really nice atmosphere. The owner is great and incredibly helpful - he gave me a map on arrival along with an introduction to the city. My private room was comfortable and I also had a taxi arranged to the airport for me for 18 euros. It's a little bit of a walk into the city but you can take a taxi for less than 2 euros and it's totally worth it to stay at this hostel!

Booby the person in charge is a nice guy. He is gonna help you giving you directions and answering to your questions. There is a terrace where you can share with other travelers. It takes 15 minutes walking to the downtown and about 20 minutes walking to the station. The best thing is to take a taxi that is gonna be about 100 Macedonian Dinar, just 1,80 euros or something. But you have to negociate first with the taxi driver.

City Hostel might not have that much of a hostel character, as there are many one or two bed rooms, but it's still a lovely place to stay in a nice and quiet neighborhood of Skopje. To be honest, it's that nice and quiet that even a local driving us there (because we were a bit confused, at 6 in the morning) had troubles finding it. Once you've found it though, the location is great. As others noted, there aren't exactly many showers. Bobi is also very nice and there's a nice breakfast.
