More like a budget hotel than a hostel. Loved it even if it was just for one night. There's a convenience store just across the street.

1. The staff of cleaning did not renew towels for me even I had hanged them on glass of showering room. He did not give me cups of milk for coffee on second day. 2. I was accommodated on 1/F. At about 10 pm I heard human are talking loudly on street. Luckily I did not fall in sleep at that time.

City Lodge was really clean and nice that every room has a private bathroom. no real character to the hostel though, and the internet is a huge ripeoff. you have to pay by the amount you want to use and its not cheap, you can't even get enough wireless to skype. the beds are really uncomfortable as well.

I somehow got upgraded to a private twin from a quad dorm. No complaints from me! The private was like a hotel room. Flat screen TV, great beds, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was perfect. Everything was super clean and the room and floor was fairly quiet for being just off a busy road. The night staff was great. The day staff gave my friend a bit of hassle with her change to reservations (luckily she had everything saved in her email so they believed her but they were still a bit rude).

Location is quite good, not the best but above average. Kitchen is well equipped. Bed wasn't quite comfortable. One of the staffs even gave me a wrong direction, and made me wasted extra 30 mins in searching my dinner. She should have googled it for me if she isn't sure!

Rooms were perfect. Stayed one night at beginning of trip and liked so much that we stayed another when we got back to Auckland! Very affordable and 100% safe. Would defo recommend to anyone visiting. We stayed during RWC and it was still quiet and no noise. Good view of sky tower on first stay.

This hostel has the amenities of a hotel, yet the vibe of a hostel. The rooms were clean & adequate. The walls a little thin so take earplugs. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I loved the breakfast boxes for $10 and delivered to your door! Stay here, you'll have a good time!
