inspiring position, good choice for the money if you have to stay for a couple of days. not more. the great view from the 15th floor can't compensate for the tiny and not so "fresh" blankets, who were supposedly clean but didn't give this impression. man's toilet door on the floor had its lock broken, which is not good. i speak about my floor, however. i adapted myself only because i stayed two nights. i would not take my woman there.

Safe secure reliable dependable but boring. Little to no hostel nightlife. There was just one small uncomfortable common room with your typical 3 Spanish guys hanging out. No rugs, paintings, guitars in the corner.

I stayed in this hostel for two nights from last Friday. It was too noisy to sleep on Friday night. A guy in the next room started to play music very loud from 11:30pm and having a party with friends until 3am in the morning. Also, my room was very cold since the window does not close properly. I went to the reception to borrow a heater but the security guys just gave me a blanket and didn't even look for a heater.

What you lay for is what you get, the only downside to the hostel is at it full of performance students, this is not a place if your are a lite sleeper as the students tend to gather in room sing and talk to the we hours of the morning, staff don't seem to care so. Not my first choice, unless your on really tight budget

Staff were friendly but not very helpful. I arranged for 11 am arrival but was told to leave & come back in 3 hours. Walls bewtween rooms were paper thin: I could hear person next door cough, laugh or scream. Washrooms were not inspected nor cleaned on weekends: there were no working toilets on our floor for 2 days.

Great helpful staff. Room on the 15th floor with fantastic London skyline view. You also have a microwave in the reception, very useful. Not very far from the Barbican tube station so convenient.

I would not stay in a hostel again. poor facilities, no tv, no tel in the room, no private bathroom, noisy, of course this is excepected from a hostel. But generally speaking i did not enjoy my stay in a hostel.

I recently stayed at the YMCA Barbican London during the Christmas Holiday and experienced the staff as extra friendly and willing to answer thousands of question about London. The staff is very friendly. And the YMCA is a great place to meet other traveling people who are very friendly, accepting and engaging. I would stay at the YMCA hostel again.

We had a nice stay, friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms. we had an astonishing view from our room on the 15th floor). Only the windows need to be replaced, it was cold ( we were there in December) and loud. I would stay there again.

Staff is very friendly to the long-term residents, but not to the short-time residents! Room was very cold, and sink wasn´t clean at all! Very good was the note of check-out including check-out time (especially as the reception and the paper in the room said two different times - different to the 10 am on the note..)

For £30 per night for a single bedroom, the hostel is just ok. Breakfast was included too. But, the building is very old and the general appearence and feeling of the hostel is bad. But, you cannot find anything better downtown for 30 quids. You get what you pay for.

The website listed a number of "included" things - for instance a "evening meal". It seemed none of the staff knew about such a meal, because when I asked about it all they said was "no, breakfast is included". Maybe they should have another look at their website. :)

The basin in the bedroom is not clean. Something odd is sticking on it.
