The staff members at reception & in the canteen were excellent - very friendly, efficient and answered my queries intelligently. The curtains and windows in the room (902) could have been cleaner but the bed was very comfortable and clean. the room was spacious and had just what I needed.

Location is excellent. Just 3 minutes walk from Barbican tube station. Breakfast is great with the usual egg, bacon and mash potatoes. They also have cereals. The drinks have a variety of choices. But be prepared to be disturbed with sound of doors opening and closing from your neighbours. The mattress is hard.

Located in a building with approx. 15 floors I stayed in a twin room with shared bathroom in the 15th floor. The view was amazing, although the weather wasn't nice. The room was equiped with a furniture from the late 80's, but the bed was new and the mattress was good. The bathrooms were also cleaned up and hot or cold water was available. The breakfast was ok, although you were allowed to pick the hot english-breakfast-things only one time. The wireless LAN hasn't wored unfortunatelly.

I was very pleased with my single private room. It was basic but that was fine; it had everything I needed. I will definitely stay again. Good value for money especially as breakfast was also included which was also excellent.

The location is good and the hostel is in a quiet area - not too much street noise. The doors really slammed at night, they'd make you wake up bolt upright. It was clean and tidy.

Room`s doors are not safe enough and showers aren´t comfortable at all. But underground is very near and the price is affordable. There is also free WIFI.

I was in room 1309. The window frame is a bit scruffy and some cold air comes into the room. Fortunately a heater is provided! Very friendly staff, good and clean shared bathroom, the bedroom is very essential and clean.

It would be better if toiletries are served at the property.

Shabby facilities but very spacious (I stayed in a single for a very reasonable price). Hot water remained throughout. The free breakfast is good too. The wifi is only on the ground floor and keep going off but if it won't let you back on, if you get a few wifi codes from reception you can just put a new one in and continue. Also has a gym.

We are a couple from Hong Kong. During the two night we spent in City YMCA, we found that most of the staff members are friendly and helpful. The room is clean, the canteen and the breakfast and dinner provided are excellent. We highly recommend the place to you.
