The toiletpaper dispensers are not very convenient, because every day it happens that the paper stucks in the machine. You can see there is plenty of paper, but you just can't reach it.

Very clean hostel. Pretty good. I hoped it was a busier hotel, with more people socializing, but it's fine.... mattresses are a bit too thin, so I didn't have a great sleep. But overall this is a good hotel with friendly staff.

Bathrooms got a bit gross, and the shower was really annoying (the lights in the shower were motion detected and would go off during your shower, and you had to keep pressing the knob in the shower to get the water to stay on). Otherwise, the hostel was great. I loved the happy hour, the breakfast, and the friendly staff! The location was really good too!

This is a great hostel for several reason: the room are very big, confortable, and you have several places to take a shower. The breakfast is very nice due to it includes fruits, yogurt, bread, and more... The location is very nice because you can go to the main atractives places in Berlin. The Staff is very friendly and also give you solutions if you have some problems.

Excellent stay! Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, nice shower with hot water. breakfast, all you cant eat, for 5 euros. the best location in berlin possible (the bus stop to Tegel Airport is right in front of the hostel), 10 minutes walk to the Brandemburg Gate and all others sightseeing stuffs. Sadly, people don't chat at the social area, since there is wifi there.

The 1st floor lounge area was great place to hang out. The room was small and not very clean, but had everything you need. The bathrooms weren't very clean and the showers were awful. In the shower the lights were motion censored and would turn off in the middle of the shower. The water in the shower would turn off about every 10 seconds. It was one of the faucets where you press it and it produces water for a few seconds and then you have to press it again if you want it longer.

As an English speaker and being my first time in Berlin, I found this hostel unfriendly. The design is such that people tend to stay in their groups, and the majority of them being from other parts in Germany. The staff defers you to their brochures/pamplets if you have questions about what to see or do in Berlin, so you better research on your own before arriving. The WIFI is also really slow and didn't work on my phone. However, the hostel is in the best location in the city.

A very central location enabled us to walk everywhere when exploring the city. The room we stayed in (8 bed mixed dorm) was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of space. The breakfast was excellent!!

Had an amazing stay here right in the heart of Mitte and Alexanderplatz. Couldn't have picked a better location. Friendly staff, awesome bar. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

The bathrooms were kind of dirty but not the worst I've seen. The lockers in the rooms were nice but you needed your own lock.

Being a first timer in Berlin, I would say that City Stay Hostel is a overall a great hostel to stay in for it's excellent location. Not only is it centrally located opposite the TV tower, it's also a 5min walk to the famous Berliner Dom and lots of amenities centrally located just outside the hostel. Staying in the 8 Bed room, the room itself was generally big and spacious and quiet. However, like most, the only problem was that the showers turn of every few seconds and lights every 10 mins.

Some of staff members are much nicer than others. Some were more helpful and one was rather rude and not very patient with our questions. They did not seem like they wanted to be approached for recommendations, but another one let us make an international phone call for free. The rooms were large and bunk beds sturdy, showers are nice because you get a big room to yourself with closed door. Walls are pretty much paper thin.
