The 400 baht huts have excellent views but are in need of some TLC. Our first hut had a collection of mice living under the bed and in our next one the roof leaked on us when it rained in the night!

Wonderful place, with a wonderful hang out area by the bay. Dinner is excellent and with big portions. Hanging on the hammock and having dinner by the sea was so good. The owner is very nice. The rooms are ok, the location is away from most of the other touristy resorts which is what we wanted. Recommended to stay here if you like some peace on Koh Chang!

Listing provided on hostelworld by bedandbreakfast world, doesnt really meet either definition. As everyone says, food is mediocre at best and over-priced. It does have a nice ambiance however way too many mosquitos. As it also serves as the common room I think an ability to bring your own food &drinks should be advertised let alone not discouraged. No wonder half the time the place was lifeless. Beautiful views, but shoddy bungalows have the views. Friends had a bed on a slant that was comical.

If ur carrying more than a backpack, forget it, expect a 15 min walk on trashfilled dirt paths and over flimsy bridges. shared showers are just room with a hose in it. No hot water, not even a showerhead when I was there. The lock on my room broke off completely but was fixed quickly.Food and drink is a bit overpriced but pretty good...all that being said...the restaurant is relaxing and staff is nice. The hike up to your shack of a bungalow is made worth it I suppose by a breathtaking view.

It's a peaceful place with a good view. The food was good and decently-priced, and the staff were pretty nice as well. We had a couple small problems, though. First, the internet wasn't working while we were there. I wouldn't fault the place b/c it seemed like a rare thing and the owner was working pretty hard to get it working again. Second, the beach is pretty far away. It's definitely walk-able, but if you're here for a while, you may want to consider renting a bike.

The view from your cottage is absolutely priceless. Definitely worth it just for that. The restaurant took a little longer than normal due to them being understaffed in the kitchen. However, the food itself was fine and servers were great. Be weary with reservations if you do not book in advance as a few guests had issues while I was there...I didn\'t have any issues and got the room and dates that I booked through this website. Overall, a great deal and I would definitely stay here again.

Cause the huts at Cliff Cottage are such in a bad condition and dirty, we asked to change for a room. The room was fine, but the bathrooms were so stinky, it was very unpleasant. I am travelling in Asia with my backpack since 4 months, small and cheap places, and this is the first time I am desapointed: this place really need some "love". The owner was kind of nice. Food little bit expensive for what you get. Far from the village. Better places at Lonely beach (Little Eden is just perfect) :)

We had a very good time. Stuff was nice, the view fantastic and the beach really nice. However, we were disapointed concerning the cleanliness of the place. Toilets and showers were really dirty and they smelled really bad. There was trash on the showers (and it stayed there the 4 days). Our fan had never been dusted, so whenever we wanted to turn it on, all the dust came into our face. The huts need some mainteinance as well.

Such a great place to stay - comfortable bungalows, awesome communal area / bar / restaurant overlooking the ocean. Close to Bang Bao Village. Shaun and his wife were lovely and hospitable. The food at the restaurant was great. Overall, the hostel is great value for money. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Cliff Cottage during the peak season, so I realize that hotel staff all over Southeast Asia are exhausted and over-worked. However, the staff at Cliff Cottage were more than that. When I asked questions, I got minimal answers (if any answer at all). When the power went out, I was barked at for asking why. The "cleaning" staff smashed bugs found on the wall and left them there. The "short walk to Bang Bao" is through mud and around completely dark corners. Food - mediocre.

At first, Cliff Cottage is a little tough to find when you get to the island but there's a very good reason for this. It has managed to select the best location on Koh Chang of any place that you can stay at and to wake up to the sound of waves crashing into the bay with an amazing sunrise and sunset is the best way to experience this island. The food is great and reasonably priced, especially for a resort, the hammocks right in the lounge is perfect for relaxing, and we just LOVED our stay here

Very good place if you want to be far from society. There are great restaurants near by and the food at the place itself was good as well. The staff was nice enough. Amazing view and cool huts. There are great activities and beaches nearby, they even rent scooters.

Beautiful surroundings & exceptional value for money, but not without fault. Shaun (owner) is fantastic and ready to answer any queries, the other (new) staff were less so, and we had to wait for (expensive) meals. The restaurant has great wifi and a beautiful view, and the huts (we stayed in cheapest) are basic, but functional. The main bathrooms are spotless, but ones nearer to the cheaper huts are tired and cleaned less often. Would recommend, but if I stayed again would pay for better hut.

We had a lovely time at Cliff Cottage. We thought it was great value for money and we were happy with our air conditioned bungalow. It was a close walk to the village and a nice beach. This place is just far enough away from the loud Lonely Beach area but was easy to get to by taxi. The service staff were all new and just learning their jobs but Sean, the owner, was a great source of information about the island and really made our stay.
