If ur carrying more than a backpack, forget it, expect a 15 min walk on trashfilled dirt paths and over flimsy bridges. shared showers are just room with a hose in it. No hot water, not even a showerhead when I was there. The lock on my room broke off completely but was fixed quickly.Food and drink is a bit overpriced but pretty good...all that being said...the restaurant is relaxing and staff is nice. The hike up to your shack of a bungalow is made worth it I suppose by a breathtaking view.

It's a peaceful place with a good view. The food was good and decently-priced, and the staff were pretty nice as well. We had a couple small problems, though. First, the internet wasn't working while we were there. I wouldn't fault the place b/c it seemed like a rare thing and the owner was working pretty hard to get it working again. Second, the beach is pretty far away. It's definitely walk-able, but if you're here for a while, you may want to consider renting a bike.

Cause the huts at Cliff Cottage are such in a bad condition and dirty, we asked to change for a room. The room was fine, but the bathrooms were so stinky, it was very unpleasant. I am travelling in Asia with my backpack since 4 months, small and cheap places, and this is the first time I am desapointed: this place really need some "love". The owner was kind of nice. Food little bit expensive for what you get. Far from the village. Better places at Lonely beach (Little Eden is just perfect) :)

We had a very good time. Stuff was nice, the view fantastic and the beach really nice. However, we were disapointed concerning the cleanliness of the place. Toilets and showers were really dirty and they smelled really bad. There was trash on the showers (and it stayed there the 4 days). Our fan had never been dusted, so whenever we wanted to turn it on, all the dust came into our face. The huts need some mainteinance as well.

Owner Comment (Show)
We have been incredibly short staffed over the holiday period due to 4 members of staff leaving at the sametime and this caused us to drop our usual high standards. Our shower blocks are now being given full priority and are back being cleaned minimum 4 times daily. As for the fan i apologise and all fans have now been cleaned in all rooms.

We stayed in Cliff Cottage during the peak season, so I realize that hotel staff all over Southeast Asia are exhausted and over-worked. However, the staff at Cliff Cottage were more than that. When I asked questions, I got minimal answers (if any answer at all). When the power went out, I was barked at for asking why. The "cleaning" staff smashed bugs found on the wall and left them there. The "short walk to Bang Bao" is through mud and around completely dark corners. Food - mediocre.

This customer was difficult to say the least/ The reason this customer had minimal answers was because she was asking plain silly questions when i was already serving another guest and was inredibly rude to myself and staff .It is difficult when a customer is shouting at you because you cannot serve hot breakfast and the mains electric is out not to be curt in your reply. We have only had 1 days rain in the last 3 months so this explains why the path to the village was muddy on that day. Ive now asked the staff to pray to Budha so it doesnt rain again until high season is over. As for smashing bugs im surprised the staff left it on the wall as they usually eat them!! AS for our food being mediocre it didnt stop this customer eating 3 meals a day over her stay.

Very good place if you want to be far from society. There are great restaurants near by and the food at the place itself was good as well. The staff was nice enough. Amazing view and cool huts. There are great activities and beaches nearby, they even rent scooters.

Beautiful surroundings & exceptional value for money, but not without fault. Shaun (owner) is fantastic and ready to answer any queries, the other (new) staff were less so, and we had to wait for (expensive) meals. The restaurant has great wifi and a beautiful view, and the huts (we stayed in cheapest) are basic, but functional. The main bathrooms are spotless, but ones nearer to the cheaper huts are tired and cleaned less often. Would recommend, but if I stayed again would pay for better hut.

We had a lovely time at Cliff Cottage. We thought it was great value for money and we were happy with our air conditioned bungalow. It was a close walk to the village and a nice beach. This place is just far enough away from the loud Lonely Beach area but was easy to get to by taxi. The service staff were all new and just learning their jobs but Sean, the owner, was a great source of information about the island and really made our stay.

I think it was a great place! It was just too far away from anywhere else on the island. However, if you are looking to get away and relax in seclusion then this is a pretty decent place. Good food and nice accomodations. Great place to see some monkeys, do some unwarranted cliff jumping, and see a beautiful sunset.

Best location you could wish for - I stayed in a small hut on top of cliff overlooking the sea & sunset. Place is as secure and clean as little wooden huts in a green outdoor area can be. Great bar area where the music was always played low volume not to disturb the people in the hammocks nearby. A very relaxing and friendly place. I'd definitely stay there again!

Cannot recommend it enough. Great location about 7 mins walk from Bang Bao village. It is right on the water with gorgeous views, though nearest swimmable beach is about 20 mins walk away. The owner and other staff are amazing and helpful. The rooms are clean and nice. Everything you could want for a quiet stay in a beautiful location. The restaurant/bar/lounge is the hub of the place, but it's for relaxing with a beer or a book, not partying.

Super peaceful spot and the nicest couple run the place. The owner gave me a great deal of assistance in helping me find a room when I moved on to another island. The restaurant food is fantastic, as is the wi-fi. Loved the time I spent there!

a bit of the centre of bang bao, but the place itself is superb if you want to relax. the owners Sean & Nam were very polite and helpful, let us stay in the bungalow instead of cottage for 3 nights at no additional cost, and gave us a ride to the ferry as well. highly recommended.

The location couldn't be more beautiful, it's actually the most beautiful spot i've ever stayed at. There are cheaper locations around, but it's well worth the price. Ask for Basic Bungalows up from No. 24. Will defo go back, if i am looking for a place to just relax of a few days.

I loved staying in the little shack on the cliff top. Staff friendly and food very good. there are cheaper places around. Location good but not a lot happening around Bang Boe. If i went back to Kho Chang i might stay around Lonely Beach.

I wanted a peaceful retreat to relax and thats just what i got. The main chillout area is over the sea and has hammocks with awesome views. I just chilled with a book and a smoothy. The village is a 5 minute walk away and is surreal. The owner is so helpful. My friends opted for the aircon seafront rooms which were really nice but i opted for the basic huts as im travelling for 3 months and on a budget. This is one of the most beautiful places i have visited so far!
