I chose Cliff Hotel based on the price and the good reviews on Hostelworld. I would say that I was not disappointed. It was a very comfortable stay and an especially good place to meet other people if you are a single traveler. The owners/staff are very helpful. The location is very good in terms of being close to several places to eat/hang out (Hashim Restaurant - open 24 hours across the street, Jafra Cafe just up the street, very short cab ride to Rainbow Steet).

Pros: close to the ballad neighborhood. Cons: extremely hot with no AC (if you haven't lived in Jordan, then I can't stress this enough); the staff is extremely inflexible if you need to change dates or checkout; the rooms overlook the busiest roads in the ballad (don't expect to sleep before 3 or 4 a.m. because of noise); and some sort of bug bites -- which may or may not be bed bugs. Bottom Line: DO NOT STAY HERE. I understand the desire to travel cheaply, but this is a mistake.

Wifi went out while we were there. I also left with an insane number of bug bites!! Money paid was reflected. It was dirt cheap but I would have paid more, in hindsight.

Had an awesome time in Cliff Hotel! Good staff who help you out with everything you need, their friendly, arrange affordable trips to the most beautiful places around Amman (or further). Best price for value we had in Jordan, plus it is in Downtown and across the best and cheapest restaurant in Amman!

The hostel was good value for money (though definitely not the cheapest in Amman like some commenters here have said, just the cheapest on booking sites). Nice and knowledgeable staff, good location right in the center of Amman (all the taxis etc know Hashem restaurant so it's easy to find)

Cliff hostel is by far the best and cheapest option in downtown amman. Don't expect anything fancy. You get what you pay for. The owners are very friendly and helpful and will make you feel right at home. They can also help you plan the rest of your trip or transport to the airport. I would definitely recommend cliff hostel!

It's actually located in the centre of downtown, but hard to find for the first time. The room and facilities are very basic. Wifi was only in the common area. Staff were very helpful. It's nice to stay for few days to look around Amman downtown.

It was stinking like a chip pan in our room. The rest was ok
