Cloud 9 Backpackers Resort Reviews

On first impressions i thought this hostel was dirty and uncomfortable. However, after a night or two i was able to look past the messiness of my room (to be fair, down to the other guests not the hostel itself) due to the friendliness of the staff and other guests. I was made very welcome and spent a few great days just chilling with everyone. If your looking for luxury, this is not the hostel for you, if your looking for familiarity and friendship, it'll do just fine.

It was extremely poor timing that I would be staying at Cloud 9 whilst it was particularly humid, and there was a incredibly unhappy tourist who complained about the lack of airconditioning. This was despite paying the discounted amount for the no-air-con room. Our room (of 8) was held to ransom by this individual, and we were forced to sleep with the door open, with 3 noisy fans, and an unhappy individual who used nudity as a form of protest. I was happy with the conditions until this incident.

The hostel was definitively cleaner than I expected after the last ratings. Thanks for that!

The hostel was filthy, dirty plates and washing all over my room. People smoking weed all day meant that it was all I could smell. The kitchen was filthy, flies were everywhere. The bathroom wasn't much better and the floor was always wet which meant me nearly slipping and breaking my neck every time I went in there. Staff were pretty unhelpful, too busy talking to each other or being miserbale to help.
