This is what every hostel should be. Grungy, cheap and fun. The staff are wonderful and the bar is perfect for socialising.

The best hostel on our trip through Europe. Staff and the atmosphere was amazing. The pub crawls were definitely worth it. Would recommend it to anyone going to Prague

The Clown and Bard is a very special place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff are some of the coolest people that you'll find and they're all incredibly helpful. They do pub crawls a couple times a week, and go to some really great bars. I fell in love with the neighborhood as well. Lots of delicious inexpensive food and friendly faces. Go see them! They'll make you feel like you're with family, an invaluable experience when you're in a new place.

Fellow travelers. if you want to prepare for your backpacking trip through Somalia, this is a perfect place to start your preparation. The 3 nights we stayed the hostel allowed us to experience third world situations at a very reasonable price.. No internet on first day, no warm water on the second and no electricity on the third. The rooms were in abysmal condition, not clean at all, the lockers in bad shape, and the electric points in the room, 4 for a room of 12 people. It was very cheap

The hostel is not located in the centre of the city. The water was always cold when taking a shower. The room was okay and we even had two toilets, but the cleanliness was not that good. This hostel is more suitable for party-looking friend groups than couples. I liked the possibility to have breakfast at the hostel. The staff was nice.

Really social hostel, friendly staff who know the city very well and even offer to take you on tours if available. Pub crawl most nights. Hell of a lot of fun will be back!

For atmosphere, Clown and Bard is very good. A bar serving pints at the equivalent of £1, coupled with the anything goes policy make this place superb for meeting people and having fun. However the facilities in general are poor, with disappointing showers and no working kitchen equipment, while the WiFi rarely works. If you want cheap and fun, this is the place to stay. If you want nice facilities, you should reconsider.

This place is awesome. Real grimy and hippy atmosphere. Staff are total locals. Great bar in the basement. Probably the coolest hostel in Europe.

wifi doesn't work properly in the rooms. toilets are dirty, and the place is so noisy.

Staff were nice and helpful & security was decent, having a million keys to enter anywhere in the huge building. Hostel had its own bar and an outdoor garden where BBQ's were held which was a good way to socialise. Location not particularly central but well located enough to tram line to get to the main town square. Overall I didn't love the atmosphere of the place, it's pretty old, dirty, dark & drab with nothing real special going for it. Nice & cheap I guess if that's your priority..Poor wifi

okay hostel, has a bar which is good, rooms okay, nothing special, old locks and keys that were tricky to use. not bad hostel but nothing special

Very good hostel-atmosphere with a great and cheap bar, different social arrangements (BBQ, movienight, pubcrawl) and a very friendly, outgoing staff. Wi-fi only Worked on the stairs, the bathrooms and toilets weren't cleaned everyday and people party a lot, so be prepared to wake up a couple of times in the night ...... Good location surrounded by Many nice and cheap restaurants :-) would stay here again - but I only recommend it for young people.

This is by far the best hostel to stay in in prague. Staff is awesome and knowledgable and are cool to talk to. It's also a very social hostel so if you like to be social I really recommend it. It's probably not for couples with kids though.

Cool hostel, nice bar and garden playing cool music, quirky furniture and great cheap buffet breakfast, also in less touristy part of town so much cheaper bars and shops and beer garden in nearby park. Rooms a bit grotty pretty basic (great views from top floor) and quite dirty bathrooms but good value for money and helpful staff for recommendations, good for students and backpackers.

In the whole, a good hostel. It's recommended for those who want to make friends with other travellers. To be improved: the kitchen is not very well equipped, wifi connection is a bit unstable. Most importantly, please state clearly, when you ask for the deposit, your policy regarding late check-out.

Not the cleanest or closest to town centre, but the staff and atmosphere makes up for it! It's close to some nice bars and restaurants too
