This hostel is the middle of little india, great location! and also the staff was so useful to advice us how and where take busses to visit the city and around. The room was good, although there weren´t any windows to clean the air inside the room and the common area was small. The common bathrooms were clean, but it could be a good idea to bring your own soap or to install liquid soap in them.

Good place to stay, rooms were clean and staff was very helpful, but the rooms with a window to the street were very noisy.

hostel is very nice. We arrived late and the owner was waiting for us till 00:30 a.m which was very postive an we apprieciated that. Next day, young lady from reception explained us what we shoud visit in Georgetown nad waht we shoud avoid. Everyting was GREAT till the moment when we informed her about our checking out.She suddently change her attitude and wasn't friendly anymore. We had a problem with leving our luggage at the reception till our departure by bus... but generaly HOSTEL IS NICE:)

Decent hostel, staff are very helpful and friendly. Willing to help with any queries you have and tell you the best places to visit and eat during your stay in georgetown. Good location, close to alot of the main sights in Georgetown and close to transport for other sights in Penang. Only downside is the lack of a lounge area to chill and the beds are possibly the most uncomfortable i have ever slept in, my back still hurts 2 days later! Apart from this, a very decent hostel.

Very nice and welcoming place with super friendly and helpful staff. It's not a place to party, so don't come expecting that.

Great little hostel in Little India. Really good cafe across the road with awesome food. Staff are really friendly and helpful, hostel is really clean. I can't really fault this place other than the really uncomfortable beds.

We had a lovely stay at Cocoa Mews though it would have been nice to have had a computer available to guests to use as is common at other hostels. Thank you again for all of the helpful information and friendly greeting!

A unique hostel, run very well by two extremely helpful staff. They initially give you a huge amount of useful information to get you orientated in Georgetown and then take a hands off approach from then on and let you do your own thing. They also keep the place extremely clean.

Extremely noisy on first floor due to wooden floors and noisy people on second floor. Some rugs would really help. I dont think this is the kind of place that should take children due to the fact that all noise echoes around the building. Very helpful staff though.

The staff here are great - helpful and with flawless English (if your Malaysian isn't great!) however, this doesn't make up for the fact that the rooms are tiny (less than a meter around two sides of a double bed, the other two sides were touching the wall) - with two big back-packer rucksacks on the floor there wasn't enough room for us both to stand. Oh, and the noise! The wooden floors mean that you hear 'stomp, stomp, stomp' all night! Not a great place for a good night's sleep.

Had an excellent stay here for a few days. Looi and Wan were extremely helpful and always good natured. They helped us plan our time in Georgetown The rooms are very clean and nicely sized. For our first night we had a room with a window on the street. We moved to an interior room because of the street noise. Cocoa is well located for exploring Georgetown and is in easy walking distance of most of the sites.

Room had no windows so felt like we were in a cage. No communal room to sit and relax. Would not recommend as other hostels we have stayed are are better value. It is simply too expensive for what it is.

Nice, helpful and really friendly the couple who runs this place. Location quite close to Jetty, can be reached by walk in 15mins. I had a good time over there.
