Lovely place to stay, perfect location in george town and about a two minute walk from the ferry. The hostel is very clean and looks recently redecorated, beds are made for you and it is in a heritage building. There was a problem with the drains during our stay which they fixed, wasn't really an issue. Maybe because it was off season this place was completely empty so we got a 12 person dorm to ourselves. Lockers are provided free of charge and the dorm has a balcony.

We stayed here for 3 nights, howie the owner is very friendly, helpful and will do anything to assist, room clean, share bathrooms also clean great location in little India, would highly recommend

I had a really nice stay at this hostel. It is located right in the middle of George Town, the staff is very friendly, the room is quite nice and the facilities are totally okay.

would stay here again. nice room, bathroom mostly clean. location is really good, directly in little India, just 5-10 min walk to the street art area. plenty of pubs and restaurants around. bus to Penang national park around the corner. staff really friendly and helpful.

Excellent hostel in the middle of GT city center. Staff was gr8 and always ready to help you.

Everything was absolutely fine for us at the hostel. Good location in Georgetown right next to the main backpacker road.

Wonderful stay with great atmosphere and a great value of friendly and interesting people!

Signal strength of WIFI on the second floor of the hostel was less than satisfactory. Most of the backpackers have difficulty to connect to the provided WIFI.

Really nice hostel! Staff were excellent, helped us book a bus from penang to the cameron highlands. very clean and a really good location in George town, only 10 minuet bus to centeral penang! lots and lots of street art in walking distance and many many good restaurants available!! very pleasant visit to George town, penang.

Just clean up a bit more in the sinks on the second floor

Good location in walking distance to most of the many sights. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful in letting you know where to go, suggestions for where to eat and even what to eat. Our room had a bit of a strange smell to it although it appeared clean, which remained the entire time. Everything else about the hostel was great!

Great location in the middle of little India. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Facilities pretty average but reflective of the cheap price so you get what you pay for. There's no communal area to relax or meet others .

Cocoa mews is an ideal spot in Penang. The staff were friendly funny, and helpful. The building is atmospheric, clean and well located. The beds were comfy and the showers were fine. Thanks!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at cocoa mews! It was clean, the staff were very friendly and super helpful, and the aircon worked great. Yes the floors are noisy but only because people aren't considerate. It's a heritage house, and they also have signs around telling people to walk quietly. Overall I'd recommend this hostel to my friends, great stay! :)

Really good experience, clean and safe hostel the staff were amazing and we even got taken on a free breakfast tour where we were shown the best local foods to eat and given tasters at each stall! Only downside was it was a quiet hostel and had no common area.

Howie made this place! He was so helpful the entire stay. Directed my friend and me to some wonderful restaurants and helped get me back to the ferry on time on my departure day. There was no common room, so socializing is limited with other hostelers, but all in all, good facilities, clean, free coffee in the morning, and great staff. It is super loud though...the walls are very thin and the ppl sound like elephants on the floors. Otherwise, great stay. I'd recommend for sure. :)

A nice hostel in Little India. Helpfull staff and good price for dorm rooms. Nothing bad to report.

Great hostel, located downtown in a historic building with wooden floors. In the top dorm with 8 beds you even have a nice balcony. Also the staff is really nice.

Fab little hostel. Can't fault it- kept staying longer than intended..!

The hostel.....is not very clean. The bed is not comfortable. And the blanket is not sufficient. The pillow is very very thin, I doubt people who used to thick pillow will be able to catch a good sleep. The mattress.....is quite dirty, you can see black little dots on it. And if you sleep with black shirt / pants, you wake-up with it in grey colour. Cleanliness is the most unsatisfied thing. Toilet doesn't have enough place to put thing.
