Summary of traveller reviews

HI Coimbra – Pousada de Juventude offers a clean and comfortable stay with friendly staff and a good breakfast. While some find it a bit far from the centre, its quiet location is appreciated by many. Note that lockers may require a padlock and there's no dedicated social area.

The beds in this hostel were terrible. They shake and squeak anytime someone moves a little. The mattresses were old and you can feel the springs poking you. The showers also only have a thin curtain and no space to dry off. No social atmosphere either. The free breakfast is nice, but guests aren't allowed to use the kitchen for some reason.

No hair dryers, a little bit inconvenient. The location is far away from the main sights.

It wasn't a typical backpacking hostel I expected. Looked more like immigrants living due to cheaper prices to save on rent. Didn't fins any travellers or that kind of social vibe was non existent with no common area or events etc.
