The owner was super friendly and helpful, the location was great, near the metro and tram. The bathrooms weren't the cleanest, though not too bad though considering he was on crutches! (mangled himself playing football...)

More like a guest house than a hostel; good wifi but no other real facilities. More suited to couples/families than groups. Close to the Colosseum but a bit of a walk to other sights. You have to call the proprietor to get into the building and wait for him to come if he isn't already there (he appears at random times and is not always accessible by phone) - be sure to have a phone, especially if arriving late at night. Kitchen has stove and fridge but no pots, pans or microwave.

Got a last minute email before arrival saying I was being moved to a building up the road. Which is a little unprofessional, it assumes travellers are perpetually connected to the internet which is a stretch plus it assumes I dont mind being somewhere that I didnt book, also somewhat unprofessional. Having said that the room was fine and it was the same area so no hardship endured, quite enjoyed it really. it is still quite a walk from the coliseum though.

Very clean and perfectly located to explore Rome. Perfect for a quiet break as there are only a few rooms, most time the place felt like our own place, you get your own set of keys and can come and go as you please. Very impressed and great value for money.

Great place to stay. Room was big, well decorated and very clean. There are 2 shared bathrooms which were very clean. It is a 15 min walk to the coliseum and roman forum. 5 min walk to the mother of all churches (san giovanni de lutheran). Don't be afraid of the entrance, it looks creepy the first time, because the building is being repaired, but once inside, everything is fine. I would repeat this one.

Coliseum room is an excellent choice for small group traveller up to 10 people since there are only 4 rooms. It seems like you have your own private apartment. The place and toilet are very clean. Though there is no kitchen but there is refrigerator and kettle provide. Though there is the construction that the hostel a bit difficult to be found but it is very near Metro station. We all enjoy staying there.

Web were expecting bed and breakfast, but we only got bed and bed. Out of that, this is a really nice place to stay for a weekend.

I have booked Coliseum Rooms for my students who were in Rome for two nights. They reported that the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Also, they got very useful informations about the subway and main sights to visit in the city in just a few days.

+ Very good value for a little money, I would definitely recommend it to everyone for such a price. Good location, helpful owner, nice rooms. - Common area in a hostel looks quite old and ugly; very bad smell from one of the bathrooms do not encurage anyone to use it; breakfast is one croissant and coffea - but please, I wouldn't expected luxouries for 40 EUR a day. Highly recommended!

We had an excelent stay! The building where the hostel is located is a lit bit old. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Its near a metro station, really close to the Colosseo.

Great place, excellent value for money, price like a hostel quality like small hotel. Big spacious rooms with nice home like interior. 2 bathrooms for 4 rooms is a great no queue! Would choose again!

We enjoyed the location of the Coliseum rooms, however we felt that the accommodation was a little neglected and in need of a bit of attention to bring it up to scratch. Even though there is no cooking facilities, the basic kitchen requirements were inadequate, old kettle with lining coming away inside (cheap to replace) and crockery not checked for cleanliness from previous users.

Dear Jennifer, thanks for your review first. My b&b is 2 years old now and nobody has ever said that it's neglected. I'm a bit of a clean freak and I look after the place painstakingly. The kitchen facilities should be cleaned after use by the guests themselves as in every hostel. Regards

We had a fantastic stay at Coliseum Rooms! One note: if you arrive late in the evening, you won't see a large sign or anything, but there's an intercom system that had a Coliseum Rooms button on it, although the label was nearly falling off when we found it. Once inside, our stay was lovely- it felt like we had our own apartment in Rome. Gianluca was very friendly and made us feel at home. Rome was the last stop on a whirlwind tour of Europe, and the bed here was the most comfortable by far!
