Nice, clean and the staff are great. I was there midweek so it was quiet but there are decent social areas. The owner is a goo guy very helpful and took us out on a run around the city

Good hostel overall, feel like you are a guest in someone's house, everybody is very welcoming. The free salsa class is a bonus. Breakfast was good and the kitchen facilities and showers were awesome. Zoey was very helpful and had a good knowledge of the area. Do not book the 5 bed dorm however, it doesn't have a door, simply a big curtain which is right next to the front door and connects the lounge - was pretty strange. Also, it would be helpful if the hostel provides some directions!

Great salsa lessons! Good atmosphere, friendly and give a good guide on how to spend your time

This hostel had a great terrace and the balcony on the dorm was nice. Breakfast was good too. I didn't like the atmosphere or lack there of and the showers were cold all morning. It took half an hour to walk to the historic area.

We are sorry you didn't like the atmosphere at our hostel. you never remained at the hostel during the day and at night slept (just one night in the hostel and only four hours in the hostel is impossible to explore the hostel and city). however it is hard to get the real atmosphere by staying just a night at the hostel. When it comes to the cold water , you had to tell us because we normally have hot water 24hrs. As well we are at the service of our guest 24/7 and we are just happy to help.

This is a nice hostel with good facilities however, they threaten to fine you for using the kitchen or bathrooms after check-out. Most hostels acknowledge that if you're not leaving town until late in the day you will probably want a shower before getting on the bus, but not here . . .

Owner Comment (Hide)
Not a threat is a recommendation, the hostel rules are sorry for you are the first time in five years someone write something like this. Check out is check out. Thanks for your time.

little terrace with super tiny pool good to chill out

Great hostel! Only negative would be that the 5 bed dorm could have been made a lot better by removing the single bed between the bunks.

In the really safe San Fernando area. You get a free beer at check in, as well as a map and info about the city, including where and where not to go, what bus to use etc.

After 4 months travel in South America we can say this has been our favourite hostel. Carolina, Mauricio

89%

Mauricio and Carolina really look after you and make you feel very at home. The roof top terrace is delightful and the free salsa lessons great. The beds are a little hard and there isn't much room in some of the dorms. Good brwakfast served and super clean kitchen with food facilities.

Great hostel. They had people working with them that were traveling, so you have lots of resources. The salsa teacher is awesome, and you can't beat a free beer at check in. They really try and accommodate any way they can.

I came to this hostel with high expectations after it was awarded best hostel in Colombia. In my time backpacking Colombia I can easily say this is nowhere near the best hostel in the country, let alone even Cali. The atmosphere is quite boring, imagine staying at your grandparent's place in an outer suburb. They have more 'rules' than any hostel I've ever been to. And no A/C! So hot, could barely sleep.

Mr. Zachary Sta. Alexandra You arrived at 4pm and left at 8am the next morning. 16 hr in total. - 18/02/14 to 19/02/14. If you spent 10 hr sleeping, spending 6 hr awake. then ?? Yes, Colombian Hostel has restrictions, no drugs and no sex in the dormitories. sorry if you usually do this in other hostels. Here, guests take part in different activities during the day and, at night, take salsa lessons together before all going out together. must be integrate

One of the best hostels for creating a vibe and a family especially when travelling alone. The staff are someof the friendliest I have met especially Phoebe, if only Cali had more to offer during the day I would have stayed here longer and the breakfast changes daily which is nice. Perfect place to stay if you want to learn salsa and make new friends

This is a fab hostel. Staff are awesome, the place is extremely clean, huge kitchen, great vibe, free salsa and wide, comfy beds. We had fun going to salsa in the evenings with others in the hostel. Highly recommended if you are sociable and are in Cali to have a good time doing salsa and meeting people.
