This place is brilliant. Easily our favourite in Colombia and probably South America as well! Nice place to chill out and the staff are really lovely. The salsa lessons each night are are great way to get everyone dancing together! Will be back...
This place really is a 10/10. Mauricio and his sister Carolina are great managers and the other people working there were really nice and helpful. The hostel has an excellent vibe, we really enjoyed our stay here. It is as clean as you could hope for and free breakfasts were always good. There is plenty of space to chill out but free salsa lessons at night often preceeded a lot of people going out as a group from the hostel, so good party potential here if that is what you're after. Recommended.
The hot tub was broken! That was the only down side. Everything else was great. Short walk to public transportation. Maurice draws great maps with perfect directions to anywhere you want to go. We had a great time.
After having a bag full of valuables stolen at the bus station the hostel was very helpful to us and provided a place we felt safe and at home in to retreat to. The owner personally offered to do anything he could to help us and we are very gratefull to him and the entire staff. Outside of that, there is a really nice community feeling in the hostel, the free salsa lessons were awesome, and it was great being taken out to salsa clubs as a group afterwards!
Soo how should I start my review - the best hostel I stayed in, absolutely brilliant. If you go to Cali you have to stay here. Owners are amazing, atmosphere is great, place is very clean, breakfast varied and you go for salsa with Mauricio (the owner). Without the hostel and ppl I met in there, I wouldnt think that foundly of Cali. Great for salsa dancing, meeting amazing peopld and playing chess ;)) Highly recommend!
This is without doubt the BEST hostel in the world! I´ve travelled to many countries but never have I come across a hostel like this! Mauricio and Carolina, the owners are wonderful, so helpful and make wonderful breakfasts everyday! They encourage an excellent social atmosphere and even took us out on nights out! Cesar comes in to teach Salsa and he is an amazing teacher! I am an advanced Salsa dancer already and I learnt so much from him! Jason, who works there is very entertaining too!
Really lovely friendly hostel. The staff are brilliant and its a good place to practice spanish with Marisimo, Carolina and Jason. Really socialble place to stay, you won't be stuck for someone to join you for salsa lessons or to go to one of Cali's excellent salsa bars. The changing breakfast menu is a really nice touch, (something warm and savory with some fruit on the side) as is the fact its cooked for you every morning- all you have to do is wash your plate.
Awesome hostel in a safe part of town. Mauricio is a great owner who is genuinely looking out for the people staying at his hostel. The hostel has a very cozy and home-like atmosphere to it; it basically looks like it was an actual house before it got converted. Mauricio goes out every night and takes whoever wants to go with him. He knows the good salsa places to go to and will even teach you a few basic steps! My only regret is that I did not stay here longer...
Amazing place. A communal computer is the only improvement suggestion we can think of :).
Lovely hostel is a super safe part of town. Bus stop, shops, supermarket, bars etc. all v.close but not noisy when you try to sleep. Comfy beds that don't squeak and nice blankets. Shower on the top floor is the best :) wifi works throughout! Bfast is good - cereal, some fruit and croissants w/ tea and coffee. Greeted by friendly receptionist and on my first day the owner JoHn took some of us out on a bike tour (with new bikes) - great English and really nice guy. Would defo stay here again :)
This hostel has everything you need for a great stay in Colombia. The staff are really fine in helping the guests with everything they need. They do more than most hostels would do to help guests plan their trip, solve problems, have a good time. They make breakfast every morning for each person and serve it in a comfortable eating area. My first hot water shower in a long time!
Loved The salsa on the roofterrace, breakfast is provided but not much special. Owner very friendly and informative, if possible will take you out to dance a little salsa (just watching is not an option, just so you know ;)) super clean, beds really comfortable and vibe very pleasant and fun. You can walk to downtown Cali if you have the time (30 min) or take a bus there. Close to the hostel are multiple eating-options. Overall great hostel and great stay.
I had a great time at the colombian hostel and I would highly recommand it to anyone willing to enjoy Cali
Great hostel - feel at home straight away. All the staff really make you feel welcome and part of the family. The beds are very comfortable and the whole place is kept very clean. There are lots of different areas to chill out and/or enjoy a few drinks, including a rooftop. Very safe neighbourhood, close to many restaurants and 2 big supermarkets, walking distance to a really good salsa school and/or learn some steps in the hostel each night before heading out dancing. Definitely recommended!
Highly recommended. Super nice. Super clean. Friendly staff. What more can you ask for. .
Mauricio went out of his way to ensure our comfortability and safety. His excellent staff made sure we did not have to worry and just enjoy our trip. We were seven to the group and we would most defenitely stay here again on our next visit. The place was very clean and well organized.
Good location, great staff, decent kitchen with reasonable equipment. Great roof terrace, nice lounge with TV and good wifi throughout the building. Wasn't a big fan of the dorm. Wasn't really a room, just a curtained off section from the main lounge. No ladder or step to top bunk, not the most safe getting up and down. Bed wasn't very comfy either. Seemed to be a lack of plug sockets in the room itself too. Showers not great, I found it difficult to get a good balance of heat and flow.
We stay only one night, everything was nice. The owner is really friendly. It is on a really safe are. 100% recommended!!

The atmosphere in the Colombian hostel was great, very relaxed but you can always find someone to go and enjoy the Cali nightlife with. Mauricio, the owner, gave us a little basic salsa lesson after which we went out to a salsa club, which was really fun! The room we booked (basic 4 bed dorm) was just behind a curtain next to the living room, which could be a bit noisy, so it might be better to book one of the other rooms upstairs. The hostel is clean, good kitchen and near lots of restaurants.
This hostel is perfect in every way. You won't want to leave :)
