My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in the private room. Michael is a lovely man who gives very good advise. The room was spacious and clean. No hot water in the shower may be of interest to some. The upstairs area is an absolute winner and a great place to unwind and chat with others. The restaurant next door serves great food, too. It's in a nice quiet area a stroll away from the beach - highly recommend.

Can't beat the location for those wanting to be out of hectic Colombo and near the beach. Sure the rooms are a bit sparse, but I didn't realize that hostel goers were such decor snobs. Michael the manager is as advertised, friendly and helpful in all avenues.

Nice staff and nice place to chill on the roof top. Rooms are clean and have fans. I recommend to go there to be out of Colombo City center.

It's a great place to stay as it's not IN the city and not too far away. It has great access to public transport routes (bus or train) into the city. Great vibe as I met a lot of fellow travellers and we continued as a group from here. The Roof. It's THE place to be when you go back to the hostel after a day out. great setting and free coffee or tea and WiFi. WiFi worked great throughout my stay, but understandably it was switched off during lightning.

Seemed a little bit overpriced for what you get. The owner was very nice and the rooftop is great. There are plenty of cheap restaurants nearby. Probably wouldn't stay here again because I think you can find something for a better value.

A nice simple hostel, close to the beach, has a good upstairs communal area with a kitchen that we were able to cook a few meals in.

Our stay was only one night. Everything was alright. The stuff Michael was very nice and helpful. There is a nice food corner just outdide the hostel with lovely Sri Lanka dishes and reasonable prices.

Really great place to start or finish your journey around Sri Lanka. Michael is nice, helpful and willing to answer any question. On the roof is a great place to relax and meet other travellers. Fast wi-fi is also a good advantage.

We had a great time at the CBH. Michael and his staff were wonderful hosts. Always kind and helpful. The rooftop was just finished, the rooms had enough space to feel home. We will go back there next trip!

In total we had a great stay. The staff were amazing and we felt safe and welcomed for our first nights in Sri Lanka. Also i liked that they arranged a transfer from the airport to the Hostel. The Hostel has potential capacity for a really cool place because the location and the rooftop are burner. Would always stay again. One advice, bring your own cover, if you need. :)

Great place, 2mins walk to good beach, Michael the manager is really really awesome very friendly and very helpful. We booked two nights but stayed 5 as we had travelled 40hrs from Mexico so were knackered, the perfect place to rejuvinate. We are leaving to the south coast for two weeks so Michael is minding our extra bags at no charge until we return to stay again for two more nights before heading home to Australia. Thank u Michael u made our stay a fabo one. Davey and Kim :)

Very basic dorm with permanently open windows (full of mozzies). A bit expensive too. Michael (owner) was friendly and knowledgeable so made up for the shortcomings.

Pros- great location, a short walk, a hop over the railroad tracks and beach! Nearby restaurants, rooms were clean, wifi Cons- tons of construction going on, did not enjoy the banging or workers outside my room from 8am throughout the day, really buggy

Minimalistic room. Just a bed. Very damp, like a steam-sauna at arrival, but the fan helpt and the night was ok.
