Great breakfast! Friendly, bi-lingual staff. Only downside is the hot water drip.

Very nice building in Old Town Quito. Great backyard with hammocks to relax. Guys who work the front desk were super helpful. Excellent security but a little lacking in atmosphere. Don't recommend the dorm room as there is only one and it is quite small and a little awkward!

The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful, the hostel in General were great in accommodating our needs, especially as we arrived in the early hours of the morning and we had to cancel two nights, they were so fast and easy to communicate with and I wish all hostels were ran like that.

Excellent environment to be in, great and inviting staff, and a lot offered both in and out of the hostel. The breakfast is inexpensive and extremely delicious, and the rooms were spacious. Appreciated the organized tours and excursions offered through the hostel as well. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone, young or old.

This hostel had everything I needed and was comfortable, quiet and great value. Service also excellent.

Great hostel in the historical centre of Quito, a big old colonial building, as the name suggests. I had a garden room which was large, and although not advertised as such, the bathroom may as well have been private for me. Friendly staff who gave good advice on things to do and see. The breakfast cost extra ($3.50), but was with every penny.

Fantastic place to stay. Staff (and volunteers) are fantastically friendly and very helpful, although the knowledge of the volunteers may vary due to not being fully acquinted with Quito and surrounding areas. Atmosphere was great, and the common areas very inviting.

The hostel is well localized, at less than 10 min walking from Quito old center. Private rooms are Ok, but bathrooms are in bad conditions (h ot water flow really limited, outdated electrical wires very close to the shower, flawed cleanliness, etc.). We found much better for similar price.

Really nice looking place, cool garden with bunnies and a lot of space to share activities or enjoy privacy. First hostel I've been in who has a 'gym' :)

I think i will go again, its a really nice place, the staff were really friendly and also they are from differents countries so they can give u information of Quito from different views. the location was okey, but like always in Ecuador, if you wanna be in the downtown of the city you have to know that at night it isnt safe.

Good location. Chose it for tyge kitchen facilities though these need replenishing (only 1 dinner plate!), kinda old but also charming. Good for socialising or alternatively finding your own space.

i really liked this hostel, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and older styled rooms which made me feel like i was in my grandmothers house...which was actually cool! Plenty of space to move about, good common area and free purified water which was a massive help on the hot days. Would recommend over Revolution hostel 5 mins away where a friend stayed - the owner was rude to us which we thought was very un-hostel like. Stay at Colonial House!!!

Bathrooms not very clean; smell smoke throughout the house; limited hours for kitchen and receptionist- does not aid well to early risers. Plus, it is tacky that the receptionists are not paid and expect a tip. Rooming was the worst- we were a group of 4 and booked the room for 4 thinking we would have the room to our self and a key to help with security; come to find out that the room was attached to another room with a curtain separating the rooms and must go through the other room to leave.

Great breakfast for 3'50! The staff were very helpful and friendly, just a bit noisy some nights due to the bell ringing, but that was just a small thing compared to everything else. Comfy beds, cosy lounges, great wifi, simply fantastic!

Great hostal, with wonderful staff and centrally located. They have a little backyard with hammocks to relax, a nice place.
