The host and staffs are very kind, giving me many info. about food and traffic. As I have limited time in Hualien, so the staffs help me buy stamps as well as send the posts. Stay here is a 100% accurate choice I have made.

Met 2 very friendly helpers, Peter and Ben. They really tried to provide as much information as they could. Gloria was really friendly as well. Location is good as it is easy to find. Just exit from the rear of the train station and walk straight ahead to the end of the street and make a right turn. We took the double room and it was clean and bright. Only downside is that we had to climb down 2 levels to get to the shower room and toilet. Otherwise, it's a nice cheery place to stay.

Bright, clean, and pleasant! Comfortable beds. Very helpful staff with excellent English skills. The location is reasonably close to the train station but a very long walk from the action of Central Hualien.

Only live two nights in Colorful, but I miss the staffs when I left. The rooms are big enough and clean. With TV and kitchen, I feel like at home! Only better if I have time to cook with staffs :)

Arrived in Taiwan without knowing that it was a public holiday, luckily the owner of colorful made a couple of calls AND transferred our next hotel deposit from her account to secure our room. They were also kind enough to write out the mandarin characters for really useful phrases to help us on our way. Room and the hostel was really sweet and close to the rear station.

Stayed in a 6 bedded dorm on the 3rd floor. Room is bright, spacious, clean with a small balcony access. One of the staff can speak English. Ready tours to Taroko & other attractions can be arrange with them. 5-10mins walk to Hualien main railway station rear exit. Public buses, car, scooter & bike rental are all at the front station exit. Convenient place for late overnight transit.

This hostel is as colorful as it's name. The staff was helpful and friendly, with both choosing and booking a trip to the Taroko Gorge. The hostel was pleasant and clean, located a short walk from the train station.

The staff at spoke poor to no English. Weeks in advance I had emailed and booked a full day tour to Taroko. When we arrived, we were told this wouldn't happen due to Chinese New Year. The bathroom smelled disgusting as there was no ventilation and it got very damp. The paint was actually peeling off the ceiling. There were key surcharges not mentioned at booking. We were asked to close the security shutter on leaving as it was too early (8:30am) for anyone to get up and check us out. Bad service

Spacious and clean living room and kitchen. The staff present when I stayed here was very helpful but didn't speak much English, thankfully another guest was able to translate. Rooms are clean and bed was good, the 10 bed dorm is however packed with beds and there is not enough space to move and put your stuff. Location is somewhat outside the center of Hualien.

The hosts were very kind in planning a Christmas party for everyone. The stay there over Christmas eve was memorable and fun.

Everything was good. The hostel is located on the back side of the station, so you have to walk a little bit to get to the front side (where more of the action is), but its only takes about 10 minutes or so. Lots of places to eat nearby and really nice staff. Thanks for a great stay!
