For me the atmosphere and the location of the hostel are great, also the code, lockers...what I liked less where the showers with the curtains (absolutely no privacy), the beds weren't the best (thin matrasses) and you weren't allowed to bring your own drinks to the common room, you had to buy them from the hostel instead. That said, I did enjoy my stay there!
Really great hostel in a great location. Close to the metro and in the middle of cool Kreuzberg with heaps of cafés and cool stores nearby. Atmosphere in the common room was awesome, everyone got along really well. Showers have flimsy curtains that blow open with the wind which is a little awkward, but the water was hot which is good. Kitchen facilities were great. Only issue was that the staff went through the food everyday throwing things out even if they were labelled which is annoying.
The best hostel in Berlin by far, perfect location and great staff. Amazing atmosphere and most social common area I've ever stayed in. Clean with a good kitchen and easy laundry service. If you want to stay in the best part of Berlin, in the best hostel, stay at comebackpackers! Will definitely be back.
Great hostel! I'll definitly stay there during my next Berlin-visit.
This is a great hostel, with an awesome vibe. The common area is big and open, with an outdoor terrace, and everyone hangs around in the evening and there's always someone to talk to. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and sell affordable beers. Showers weren't great but there were enough so that you didn't have to wait for anyone. I am coming back here again!
Great location. But, Wasn't too blown away with this. Staff could have been more friendly when I arrived. Eg. Taking me to the room, showing my locker, maybe even a map of Berlin/things to do. The bathrooms and shower rooms could be cleaned more. I don't understand why there was no soap in the shower room by the sinks. I did meet people as a solo traveller. I feel more could be done on nights, like party or commercial music being played. not a party hostel which I would have liked at wknd
Such a cool place!!! Awesome place to meet people, everyone is always just out on the rooftop drinking and chilling out. Great for solo travellers or anyone really! Nice and chill, would stay here again in a heartbeat !
What a wonderful time in Berlin was had at this hostel. The staff were really nice all of the time, be it day or in the middle of the night. There is a sense of humour that you don't see at most other hostels. The atmosphere was the best that I've seen at a hostel in Europe. Big groups of friends were made, old guests had come back to visit, people went out together, stayed in together, and had a great time. It was clean and nice. The only complaint would be the security wasn't the best.
My advice:Stay somewhere else. The area surrounding the hostel is quite unsafe and the entrance is tricky to find. I had serious thoughts about the rooms not being cleaned everyday. The hostel smells weird and the rooms are not well ventilated. The sheets are very old and the lockers quite small. The place is also very loud during the day and at nights you can hear everything that happens in the hostel: from steps and music to noisy drunken people. point: you might get to know a few people.

Great atmosphere but security is pretty much nonexistent. The lockers in the rooms are only big enough for a day pack and can easily be pried open, as happened to people in our room twice during our stay.
This is an ok hostel but the staff are not helpful or inviting. The showers are terrible and beds even worse. The common room however has a good atmosphere with everyone together. I would not stay here again nor recommend it.
Filthy, relatively expensive, and dangerous. A girl had her locker broken into while I was staying there, a computer, tablet, and a bunch of cash stolen. For what you get, I'd recommend maybe checking out some other places. You can get closer to the clubs or closer to the city center and have a better place for less money.
The hostel was great! I stayed here with four other girls, and it was really fun. The neighborhood is pretty hip and bohemian, and the hostel definitely reflects those vibes. Right by a U station, so really easy access to other parts of the city. Close to cool bars, clubs, and restaurants. It's really easy to meet other travelers here, as a lot of people like to hang in the common room. Overall, it was an awesome time!
This hostel is easily the best place to stay while in Berlin. It's right in the heart of Kreuzberg and the U-Bahn is steps from the door. But even on days when you're too hungover to go anywhere, it's a great place to be. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the layout makes interaction almost a requirement. It's very easy to make friends and be social here. It's always clean and the staff are all incredibly helpful and wonderfully kind. Man kann hier keinen Heimweh haben. Also, Matze is the best.

Great location situated by Kottbusser Tor - covered by 2 good U-Bahn lines. Easy for day and night. We went whilst the Berlin Festival was on, so not many people in our hostel were hanging out. Generally it would be good if the hostel did a little more to integrate people as it seemed people were quite separated in their groups and mixed much less than other hostels I'd been in. Even if this means just starting off a few games in the evening. "Good" hostel but not a "great" hostel.
Staff were awesome , Matt was a lad . Free coffee was a bonus and the kitchen was great for cooking . The outdoor area was social and great on a warm day. Good location in Kreuzberg, would without a doubt stay again!
If, choosing a hostel, you pay attention to Wifi - consider this has none. There is more chance to catch a free wifi spot on the street than to connect too the Web in this hostel. The staff seems fully aware of that (there is a note explaining that if there's no Internet it's the fault of people using it too much) and still the advertisement claims that free wifi is provided.
