Friendly staff, good common areas and nice food. Only bad thing is a shortage of bathrooms, but they are currently expanding.

Excellent place to stay in the Old Town. Staff is brilliant and very helpful. The only downside is the minimum number if bathrooms, but it shouldn't be a reason not stay here. Great place!

Perfect hostel. Good location, friendly staff, regular activities, comfortable beds! Highly suggest Ovi's free daily tours.

Nice, clean, spacious and comfortable hostel with good crowd of people. Mist staff are fellow travellers and therefore not so knowledgable about the local area. All where very friendly except for one girl who seemed to find it hard to smile. Breakfast for $2.50 was great. Free walking tour from the hostel was great too. First night in downstairs room was quiet and second night upstairs was rowdy due to loud people hanging out down the hall. Nice, big bathrooms. No laundry service.

Had a really great stay at Community hostel. It's incredibly clean and the food is too standard, better than most restaurants in the area! The beds are super comfortable too. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The only slight negative was that the internet was quite slow when everybody was trying to use it.

Fantastic hostel with great location and really friendly staff. We stayed two nights in total and as our plans changed suddenly they let us share one bed as everything else was booked. Breakfast was fantastic for $2,50, there is a book exchange, laptops for use and a Beamer for movie nights. Only negative thing is only 2 bathrooms in total, nice and clean but annoying especially in the morning.

We now have finished building the new bathroom! Come and check it out, it is probably the nicest bathroom you will ever see in a hostel

We loved it, hostel with attention to the details that make a trip worthwile. Great rooms, great communal space, beautiful relaxed place. Also breakfast is the best so far we have experienced and travelling for past 7 months, diner prepared by a chef is good too. They also organize great daily activities, to conclude: top hostel for a relaxed stay

Only stayed for one night. It was good and the staff was very helpful. Nice with the free walking tour! Great breakfast! As other have said: it would have been nice with some more bathrooms or at least toilets or sinks

Awesome homely hostel with amazingly helpful stuff, great beds but there is no internet most of the time and just one toilet per floor is a real annoyance.

Great hostel in Old Town Quito, great location for a walk around the plazas and churches etc. The hostel offer daily breakfasts and dinners at a good value. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. A bit of a pain with only two bathrooms yes, but with the awesome staff, owner and atmosphere (who cares if you have to hold it another five minutes) it really evens out. I agree with a lot of people when they say it's not like staying in an hostel, it's really like staying in someones house because of the family vibe you get from this place. With awesome and cheap breakfast and dinner around one big table it's really easy to meet other travelers as well!

my first 2 days in Quito couldn^t be better, a clean, cosy hostel with great food (delicious dinner and breakfast!) and a super nice staff!

Great little hostel in Quito's Old Town, the only issue is there is only one bathroom on each floor so can be a struggle to get to the bathroom in the mornings.

Community Hostel is one of my favorites that I've ever stayed at. The staff is so helpful and friendly, and they immediately make you feel at home. The upstairs common area makes it really easy to meet other travelers; I met the people I would spend the next two weeks with within an hour of my arrival. The breakfasts and dinners are consistently delicious, and there is unlimited filtered water. Comfortable beds, decent location. It really has everything I look for in a hostel!

Great hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff /volunteers. The food, walking tour and food tour were all brilliant. Lovely taxi driver too. Highly recommend. Only negative 2 toilets only.

I loved it! A couple points of constructive criticism: internet connection was not the best - easily got overloaded and non-functional with just a few users; the bathrooms were cleaned in the morning when people were getting up and needed them, which could be remedied by bathroom cleaning earlier in the morning or midday.

staff is really friendly, but highly unprofessional. the guy responsible for the tours wasn't around most of the time, and furthermore he was not a real help as he forgot to call agencies until they were booked solid and did not really have a good overview or gave you good information, everything was pretty wishy-washy and u did best organising everything yourself, after waiting for days to have him sort out tours that didn't work in the end. not so nice if you're on a tight schedule.

Nice people, great location. However, the internet connection was very poor and the street was loud outside, so bring your ear plugs! Nice to know that some $ go back to the community. :)

This is a good hostel for South American standards, but you know guys you need more showers and toilets (separate ones!). I stayed in the hostel for 5 days and I only had hot shower once or twice which is not too nice when it's cold outside too. Also would be great if there was a proper reception and you did not have to walk around the whole building to find a staff member yto check you in. Once you find one, the staff is nice though. Some nice tours organized from the hostel. Good stay!

Same issue as everyone else, only two bathrooms and do NOT go out after dark alone.
