This is a nice hostel in a great part of town - easily accessible to the old town on foot and to La Mariscal by bus. However, it is extremely noisy at night and much of the noise seemed to come from staff. They show movies right next to one of the dorm rooms making it impossible to sleep - if you have an early rise, I would suggest booking elsewhere.
it is unlikely i recommend this hostel beacuse my experience was not good, first of all there is no real quiteño atmosphere in it, secondly the young staff behave in such a way you don't feel confortable (the exception is Sarah who was super nice) actually one day i asked one of the lady staff to book beds for my friends who were coming and she wasn't courteous at all and when i asked if she was ok she said "estoy chuchaque" meaning hangover which was not my fault!

Really nice hostel near the Centro Historico. The Walking Tour offered is good and all the other events they have as well. They do good food for breakfast and dinner. The security and bathroom situation were not the best but they are working on it and its improving! It is a really social hostel where you can meet a lot of people
Friendly vibe, staff couldn't be more helpful! Great location, amazing food (although breakfast not included) Unfortunately not enough bathrooms/showers and no reception desk. It was never very clear who the staff were!
Very clean and the staff was really helpful. The only downside was the lack of bathrooms, however, the owner has completed renovations and 5 new bathrooms will be available in a weeks time. Great place to stay in Quito!
This was my first time in Ecuador and was amazing thanks Community for everything. The Hostel has very comfortable locations and they make plans for everyday so you never get bored. Ame mi experiencia en Ecuador y no hubiera sido lo mismo si me hubiera quedado en otro hostal, pues gran parte de esta se debió a la gente amable y divertida que allí encontré.
One of the best hostels I've stayed at! The staff was amazing...very friendly & knowledgeable. They go out of their way to help you. There's plenty of info on things to do, and the in-house agency was really helpful for planning excursions. They have events every night, and the big community table is great for meeting other people. It's a very social atmosphere, but it's not a crazy party spot. The lack of bathrooms shouldnt be an issue anymore because they're about to open up an expansion.
Amazing hostel, close to everything you'll ever need in Quito. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful and full of good advice. The $2.50 breakfasts were awesome - especially the pancakes! I also loved that the dorms had plenty of space, with not too many beds crammed in them.
Cool place in Quito. They organise a lot of activities for travelers, staff is very helpful. Facilities are new, they have two kitchens and really nice breakfast (not included) The surrounding I found a bit dodgy, next to the Mercado Central.
Really great hostel in a central location. UNBELIEVABLE breakfast - well worth the $2.50 extra.
Stayed here on 2 separate occasions during my time in Ecuador. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the free walking tour. Met some really nice people here, the place has a good atmosphere. Nice breakfasts and dinners (although this costs extra). Could probably do with a couple more bathrooms, they're often occupied, especially during peak hours. They were renovating during my 2nd stay so maybe they'll issue this minor issue.
During our stay, the hostel is working a remodeling, some smell, dust and inconveniences are understandable.
Great Hostel in the old town of Quito, short walking distance to the main plaza. Staff was nice and welcoming so the atmosphere was great and you can easily meet other travellers. They offer dinner for $5 which is served at the community table and they also serve you really nice breakfast. There was free water, tea and coffee throughout the day.Rooms and beds were comfy and very clean, the only downside is that there is only one bathroom on the floor, which could have been cleaner.
This was already my third time in this hostel. The comfortable beds and the big bathrooms keep bringing me back. However this time they had problems with hot water, but I am sure they can get it fixed soon. Great location.
Decent wifi, two good kitchens and really good bathrooms however there is only three toilets for the entire hostel so you have to wait a lot. The bedroom was clean and comfortable but right on the street so the street lights and noise made it very hard to sleep. Not the safest area at night time.
Community hostel was by far one of the nicest dorms we have ever stayed in. It's kept extremely clean, the bathrooms look like something you would find in a nice hotel. The beds are comfortable and have locked drawers beneath them to keep your valuables in. The best part about the hostel though is the breakfast!! Which is only a few dollars and always delicious. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and always around to help. Definitely worth the money to stay here!
Helpful staff. Comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Walking your was great. Optional hostel food was amazing...burgers and breakfast were delicious!
Our stay at Community Hostel was good. We arranged for Airport pick up and Airport delivery on both ends of our trip. Quito is an amazing city with lots to offer. I suggest the Quail eggs for $1.00 on the streets. A good snack is also the Chicken feet 10 for $1.00. The staff here are excellent and ready to make your stay enjoyable. Good WiFi. Clean facilities. Visit the market practically across the street!
Community Hostel had a very fun atmosphere. The room was big and bright. The bathroom looked more like a hotel bathroom than a hostel bathroom. The common areas were spacious and inviting. Lots of interesting backpackers to chat with from all over. However, the hostel was definitely a drive to the downtown nightlife. Don't walk around at night near the hostel - you will definitely want a cab. Unlike other hostels, we were not given a key to lock our room during the day. Friendly staff.
Awesome place to stay in the heart of Quito! Staff are tremendous and will help with booking tours\excursions. Breakfast isn't included but at $2.50 well worth it! Lockers are avaliable in every room. Don't miss the walking tour, a must to get to know Quito. Highly recommended hostel!
