Without a doubt the best hostel I've stayed in during 3 months of travelling in South America. Marco and the team couldn't be more helpful. Once they install a buzzer (so that someone doesn't have to run down two flights of stairs to let you in)(to be installed imminently), then this hostel will be just about perfect.

Great place to stay while in Quito. The food was great and the place was really clean. If you want to meet other people, this is the place for you.

Very safe - lockers available, 24hr reception (main door is locked at all times). A 10min walk to the basilica, Plaza Grande. Right by the mercado central. The staff is excellent - Marco is extremely knowledgeable about his city and has great recommendations on what to do/see and where to eat. Breakfast is not included but you can get an amazing one for just $2.50. Their kitchen is pretty well equipped and their 2 W/C are relatively new, however they could use a few more. Beds are comfy and new.

Not enough bathrooms - only two for 24+ people. It is also very sterile, not very welcoming, and truthfully a little boring. I don´t want a party hostel, but a tv would be nice. The pillows were fantastic!

Marco and team - Dan, Dave, Jim, Vicky, Francesca, Colleen .... Omar and Sonia - Thank you :-) Love the hostel, the lounge area, the help you guys provided, the fabulous feeling of being in a hostel yet being as comfortable as being at home, the comfy beds, the mealtimes, the clean restrooms, the hospitality, ready smiles et al. All the best for the Alausi Chapter :-) Would love to be back whenever I am back in Ecuador. P.S. I'd certainly give them a 9.5/10 :-) :-)

Good hostel for the price. The kitchen is fully workable and the location is 5 minutes from the central market to buy cheap products and food. Big living room with video projector. Showers are hot, wifi is dodgy. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Best stay we had in South America...superb breakfast and dinner for extra money but worth is if you are not in a mood for cooking...only downside was one bathroom for each level but not a huge problem...all in all very pleased with our stay

This is a hostel run by travelers for travelers. The only hostel I have stayed in with scented toilet paper. I booked for 2 days but stayed for a week. Its the kind of place you feel sad leaving. If you are flying in get the hostel to organise a pick up with the amazing Omar who also does great tours to the Equator. Breakfast is quality and they also do a great dinner for good value. Dont think about it, just book it.

A great friendly, helpful and lively place. Really felt welcome with great meals (breakfast and dinner) at a great price. Probably the best hostel we have stayed in.

My stay was great! They arranged for a taxi from the airport, which was so helpful. They have the most comfortable beds of any hostel I've ever been to! I will stay there again next time I'm in Quito!

This is a great hostel. The only issue is that there are only two bathrooms which meant you sometimes had to wait. Even so I would recommend this hostal.

excellent hostel. one of those 'home away from home' places that feel safe and comfortable. staff/owners are friendly and helpful. communal breakfast and dinner (extra but affordable) make it easy to meet people. my inbound flight was delayed 3.5 hours and their arranged pickup was still there at 1am when I landed. I'll be back.
