Lovely spacious, clean rooms. Great big lockers for entire back pack. Good hot showers and breakfast. A little pricey but probably worth the money.

We stayed at Compass del Sur for three nights and had the best time. It´s cosy, quiet and relaxed. You have everything you need to cook, the bathrooms are extraordinarily clean. The breakfast is delicious (especially if you order the extras like Porridge with fruit and honey). We also did a trip that was offered by the hostel. Mauricio, the owner, took us to Volcano Osorno and told us so much about Chile in general, and Puerto Vàras and the region specifically.BEWARE: this Hostel will SPOIL you!

Its a nice hostel with sturdy bunkbeds, a kitchen with a lot of utensils, good breakfast and a nice location. When I stayed there several couples and some small families stayed there and there weren´t that many travellers who travelled alone/ as friends, which made it at bit more difficult to get into conversation with other travellers, but that might just be pure conisidence. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. I would definetly recommend it!

It's a really nice place in a historical house, it's calm, the bathrooms are great though there are not much much for the number of people sharing it. The kitchen doesn't open very late so you have to be quick at night to eat. The staff is very helpful and they will do everything to make it fun and easy. The wireless connection isn't secured.

Large communal areas, dorms ok with large lockers. Breakfast included although I waited for 20 minutes then hand to leave for my bus with an empty stomach.

The staff was not friendly or helpful. Do not book tours through them. Otherwise, the hostel was very nice, comfortable, great breakfast, nice common areas to hang out, and generally good atmosphere.

Good quality hostel up the hill from down town. I e-mailed to get directions from the bus terminal, I was given vague directions. We got lost and had to walk back to the terminal and get a taxi. There were only two bathrooms for the about 12 people staying in the rooms and for people camping outside. They were often busy. We got a leak in our room from the bathroom above us, but were never given towels to help soak the leak up. Breakfast is good, but the kitchen is closed until 12.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to. The only things that were not 100% perfect were the location (uphill from the city center) and the two days (out of 10) without internet, which you can blame on the provider rather than the hostel. Great value for the money!
