I had a great stay here. The staff set up tours for me which took the hassle out of everything. They also spent time with the guests even after they were off duty. I wish I could have remained in Puerto Varas longer so I could have enjoyed the small town atmosphere for even longer. Access to the kitchen and oven was a big plus.

Compass del Sur was a lovely hostel, it's a shame it was so expensive. Sometimes the showers were cold during the 6nights we stayed there but overall it's a super place to stay. It has a brilliant kitchen and communal area with garden areas front and back and a security gate. The breakfast was simple but adequate and the staff were lovely.

I had a really good stay in compass del sur thanks to the great staff there ;-) the kitchen was great: there is everything you need and more. The room where you eat.... didn't please me too much but it was ok.

The wooden stairs are nice looking but can be very slippery - perhaps sticking grip tapes would make them safer. (I slipped and fell down a few steps while walking down in my flip flops) The new bathroom on the 3rd floor is great! Perhaps some work can be done to the bathrooms on the second floor.

The hostel is a little bit far from the lake and you have to walk through a very big ladder to get there. They changed me from my room and moved me to a room that was bigger to it haz a bathroom on the side and another one on the top (higher grpund). I had to listen to everybody that was taking shower. The breakfast was wonderful and, besides this uncomfortable situation, the staff was good and attentious.

We stayed here 3 days and enjoyed it very much. Great showers with plenty of hot water. We enjoyed cooking in the well-supplied kitchen. We would have stayed longer, but they were fully booked. No surprise.

A warm and cozy place to stay. We met some nice people in the common areas and in general have very nice memories of Compass del Sur.

I spent Christmas eve in this Hostel. We had a big dinner with all the guests from the hostel. It was really cozy. The hostel is close to the center and the staff is really friendly. If you have a small budget, you can also camp in the garden.
