Compay Hostel had OK bathroom and kitchen facilities but no privacy or security whatsoever. Our room (a 4 person share) had no lockers and a door and window which didnt shut, let alone lock. The staff were fairly friendly but not as welcoming as other hostels in Punta del Diablo and the rest of Uruguay. It did have a good socializing area but don't expect to sleep.
This place is for South American schoolies. Wouldn't recommend it if you're a backpacker.
Good hostel with nice atmosphere, ideal for rest. Distant 5 minutes from the beach and town center. There is a nearby market with cheap products. Every night the hostel staff performs a dinner with a fair price, also there is a small party the night. The rooms have no lockers but believes enough safe place.
This is a fab hostel. The kitchen is great, the bathroom is great, there are lots of open areas with beanbags, benches or sofas and the staff are really helpful and friendly. You're a 10 sec walk to the supermarket, 5 mins to the beach and 10 mins to town and 20 mins to the bus station. The Christmas eve asado was an added bonus.
They had cute BBQs most nights it was super socialreally close to the beach i would stay there again :)
