NOTE THERE ARE NO CASH MACHINES/BANK IN LA PEDRERA! Nearest in La Paloma (15min bus ride) Compay has a good atmosphere, hammocks and a nice decking area, cool music playing. There was noone to check us in when we arrived - there was a sign saying `´join us at the beach´ - there is a very laid back attitude. no locks on doors or lockers, but we didn~t have any problems in practice. 4 bed dorm was small and not very clean with old sheets, but the communal areas were clean. Overall a good vibe.
Compared to the other hostels I stayed at in Uruguay, I think the staff was "uncareful"
My friend and I stayed with Compay in La Pedrera and Punta del diablo. The staff is awesome and was very helpful throughout our stay. we really appreciated how they went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend taking part of the asado if available! the sheets were very clean and both hostels are close to the beach with bean bags and hammocks to hang out. it was not very loud or crazy and it is great for all types of vacationers!
