The hostel was OK, but it wasn't really what we expected when we booked it. We had the feeling that it focused more on people with long term travel plans and the intention to work in the city then plain tourists on holiday. Although the staff was really friendly and the accomodation was nice we didn't like the atmosphere.

A bit dissapointed that we booked a triple private room and one of the ''beds'' was just a matress on the floor. Very pricey too compared to the other hostels.

Hi Allen , You did book a twin room not a triple - pls check your booking before putting a bad review like that . Our triple rooms have three beds.

We enjoyed our stay at Coogee Beach House. Great location and nice and quiet. Staff were helpful and we even ended up staying longer instead of going elsewhere as planned. Parking not very good, no free parking anywhere! Also would of been handy to have a laundry for guests to use. Highly reccommended!

i loved coogee beach house and would have loved to stay longer unfortunately it was fully booked so i only managed to extend one extra day. Would definately return and recommend. Everyone very friendly and chatty, has a nice communal/tv area where everyone gathers in the evening, great hostel to make friends. Kitchen facilities were good, with a large fridge to leave food for yourself in.

It's nice to finally come across a hostel in Sydney that has a free breakfast with no minimum nights stay. There is no elevator but the staff are quite friendly and helpful - when I checked in at night, the guy carried my suitcase up for me.

It's a good location if you don't want to be in the centre of Sydney. The bus stop is right next to it and it's one easy bus straight to the centre. If you have a car you can park it easily and you are close to a really nice beach.

Had a great time here. As a 32 year old female ex-backpacker, I was slightly concerned about staying in a hostel again! My goon and 50c noodles days are well behind me but my budget couldn't stretch to the extortionately priced Sydney hotels. I was very pleased to discover that this certainly isn't a party hostel and was actually very quiet and civilised. Many of the occupants are workers and I also saw families and elderly couples checking in during my stay. The staff were very friendly.

This is more of a hostel for long term lodgers, not so much short stayers who are looking for a bit of a party. There is a no alcohol rule which wasn't apparent from the webpage, and the facilities were pretty basic, although clean. Not much of a fun hostel vibe.

We stayed on Australia Day for 1 night-only place we could book thro leaving it late. It was the most expensive hostel we've stayed in so far on our 2 month trip ($120 for a double room - prices everywhere were ramped up becasuse of the holiday) & was very disappointing & poor value for money. The room was sparse, & the towels were stained and almost see-through in places (very worn). Kitchen was small and everyone was getting in each others way at breakfast. Good location & bed was comfortable.

Great hostel. Clean with helpful staff. Breakfast in the morning is fab and although not enough, cooler bags are provided in the fridge. A tad noisy due to the bus stops but nothing major.

Excellent Hostel. Great weekly rates, prime location next to the beach with free to use surf boards (if your intersted in that), job board for people looking for work (I found a job within 3 days of my stay via the board), free breakfast every morning and tetleys tea, the staff are really friendly and the hostel is cleaned daily. The guests are really friendly too, met some amazing friends during my stay. I would recommend this hostel to everybody looking to stay in Coogee. 101% satisfied.

This hostel is a hidden gem! It's just around the corner from Coogee beach and there are very frequent buses to the city, running at least evey 5 mintues during the day. It's a small hostel and alcohol is not permitted, which surprised me, but meant that it was quieter than other hostels I've been in. The kitchen is a bit small, but more than adaquate. There are los of good shops nearby. I would recomend this hostel as a cheap and slightly quieter alternative for your trip to Sydney.

My stay was much to brief as the service was definitely below par. Just because you book a type of dorm it doesn't mean you will get it however far in advance you book. If you wish to amend your stay after you pay upon arrival before seeing the room don't. You will not get a refund and management just say they have a no refund policy period. I wasnt shown around the hostel so I didn't know about any facilities or things on offer. No excuse for downgrading my booking other than we are busy

clean, right near the beach, more a "working hostel" than a "party hostel" (depending on what you're looking for). Nice people anyway. Free boards but Coogee is not the best place for the waves :)

I have stayed at this hostel twice, and it is cozy and in an amazing location right next to the beach. The rooms have tvs and fans, and the staff is friendly.

Booked via hostel world a Double Bed and 'private bathroom'. There was no private bathroom despite being advertised as this on website. When i asked staff i was told 'well nobody else has ever said anything'.
