We decided to stay here for the free shuttle to Gold Coast airport; the hostel literature states the first shuttle is at 630am, which was ideal for us. But we were told that in fact the first shuttle wouldn't run until 'about 10am' or when the driver got out of bed The worst thing was the noise from the smoking area from the bar - the noise was terrible and went on until 130am, so we hardly slept at all! How can you rent a room out knowing the noise will keep people awake into the early hours?

Jonathon, Sorry to hear of your dis-satisfied stay. Our free shuttle bus operates through business hours 8:30am to 6pm each day. Outside these hours it is subject to availability of a driver. As we are only a small operation we cannot guarantee a driver outside of these hours but will make every effort to find someone who can drive. Yes we are part of a hotel complex which can lead to noise on weekend nights, but again every effort is made to minimize this noise. The hostel has an 11pm noise curfew, windows are double glazed and we hope that by what people see on our web site before booking would be enough to make them aware of our location and facilities. I know many other hostels which would be far noisier than ours! Travel safely - Hopper

Very clean and friendly hostel. Has a bar and resturant downstairs and the bar does offers for people staying at the hostel. Has a lovely family atmosphere and great kitchen. Is well conected with a bus route and stop outside. Would visit again!

The Hostel was without doubt the best I have stayed in. Quiet and filled with people looking for the waves and not the pub. Excellent meal deals in the public Bistro was alao awesome.

Justin, Sounds like we nailed it! Great to hear. Yes it is a pretty special spot with some of the best surf breaks in the country on our door step. Keep chasing the waves - Hopper

Excellent staff and great location. My only suggestion is that if you are planing to check in after the office hours, please, use public transportation because the hostel didn't pick up my calls to confirm is they would send or not a pick up service.

The balconies with the outdoor couches are awesome. Please, make the cookers work again. Only half of it turns on the fire itself.

Joonas, Glad you enjoyed mate. Always looking to make sure our guests have a great stay and the discounted drinks downstairs are always welcomed. No drinking in the hostel, but with $10 Jugs, $4 schooners of cider and $3 house wine and all the big screens so you can watch your favorite sports... well you would be mad not to venture downstairs! Travel safely Joonas! - Hopper

The private room for two had a big bed in a very small room. Awkward to move around in. I would suggest spending the extra money if you are wanting a private room and booking elsewhere...

A large hostel close to the beach and all Coolangatta's activities. The hostel looks nice, the rooms seem very new and the bathroom was ok. We had some problems with the roomm, since the hostel was overbooked. In the end we had to wait for some people to leave and clean up, but in the meantime they offered us drink in the bar downstairs. We booked a private double room, but got 2 beds in a dorm room (which was empty except for us). It is a typical surfer/backpacker hostel, not really for couples

OK place to stay in town, close walk to beach, some rooms have nice balconies with outdoor beds for lounging. Kitchen was clean with free breakfast. No alcohol is allowed in the hostel so you have to drink in the bar on the first floor. Bathroom cleanliness was horrible, no soap, no toilet paper. And maybe because there are no carpets in the building, but it is SOOO loud, even people just walking by echos and makes a bunch of noise, if anyone is talking in the hall you can hear every word.

Mary, Thank you for your review and thoughts. Unhappy to hear you were not completely satisfied with your stay. This week was the busiest of our year thus far and we do have regular checks on the bathrooms. This would have only been a small miss but we do apologise... as for people talking? Hmm... can't do to much about that one! Travel safely Mary - Hopper
