Could be a nice place or actually was until the one guy started working there. He kills atmosphere and is probably the most unfriendly hostel staff I met on my one year travels. The girls working there are awesome, friendly, funny and helpful. A shame that one person can ruin all.

It was very cramped and looked a bit shifty at first but wasn't too bad for the price. Also can't complain about location, it was right next to the beach and the metro

Surprised that this hostel had 100% rating when I booked and was probably expecting it to be amazing. While it is completely comfortable and I had no prombelms or complaints at all it is just a very small and simple hostel.

I had to sleep in a tiny room with 5 other guests in two three story bunk bed, room which was build right in the middle of the living room, with a separating wall less thick than paper.. I had to listen to people chat all night long.. So I couldn't sleep until 4am. Plus the restroom is across the living room so when you go to the shower you need to chat with everyone almost naked.. All this for USD100/night.. You make your conclusions..

They packed WAY to many people into their rooms. Way too cramped. Wasn't the cleanest but not the worst. Nice staff. Close to metro, beach and everything else you need really

I have booked this reservation months before going to Rio. The hostel did not confirmed the booking, then I complained to HOSTELWORD who said it would take care of it, but NEVER RETURNED MY EMAILS. I lost my money here, and I dont trust these people aymore, I was in Rio with NO PLACE TO STAY IN NEW YEARS EVE! Horrible service of HOSTELWORLD, Aline Lima

It's a nice place to visit considering the price (especially when compared to retail price in Rio). All staffs are nice and very welcome although the cutest one can't speak English (which is what you would encounter using any services in Rio anyway). Anyway, the language difficulty was overcome with Google translation which helps a lot. The place seem small but clean enough to feel comfortable. Nice place, worth the price paid for generic backpacker.

The following is no dramatization: The hole hostel smelled like urine the whole time I was there, there was an older staff member who was exposing himself nude constantly, the rooms were tiny and cramped with three story beds with no space between and the whole hostel seems sketchy. The entrance is through a garage door between two residential blocks. The doors are constantly unlocked and besides the fear of getting your things stolen, you're in fear constantly of getting molested by the staff.

the blankets were completly dirty, just like the hol hostel the baths were a mess and the pictures that they show are not real it has a very good location but the hole experience was disapointing the staff doesn't know anything, and if they contact you with a tour they will charge you an extra cost for that (they will not tell you that) i recomend to find another hostel

We booked a private twin however when we arrived we were advised it was unavailable and put in a 7bed dorm with no other clients. Was great for the two of us however rooms are very small and I feel the dorms would be crowded if 7 ppl where there, it is difficult to get in the door with a backpack on between the bunks, and if the hostel was full the communal areas would be crowded. However staff were friendly, wifi was good and is a 5-10 min walk from the beach.
