Location: very conveniently located near the tramvay station and next to all the major attractions of the old city (ex: Blue mosque, Aya sophia, Undergreound cistern, Topkapi Palace , restaurants, cafes, etc. Staff: Very helpful and polite. I reached almost 4 hours early (prior to check-in), but they got the room ready for me quickly and helped me settle down. The staff also allowed me to leave my baggage at the Hostel emanet for almost a day after check out. (word limit exceeded)

good priced hostel with a good location. comfortable bed. good wifi connection. If there is a personal locker in the dorms, it would be great. Just one more thing, I just hope hospitality and friendliness from staffs as other good international hostels usually do.

Got in pretty late and was only there one night, but from what I saw and experienced everything seemed to be pretty well in order. Pretty easy location too.

Very nice hostel in an absolutely brilliant location few minutes walk to all of the major attractions in Istanbul. The rooms are basic but very comfortable beds and pillows (with plenty of spare blankets for the cold nights). Free Wi-Fi in the common areas, kitchen, pool table and plenty of room in the common areas. No bar or anything so no noisy late nights here. The staff arent too helpful and didnt seem to know things that hostel staff should know. Kitchen is very small and very few utensils

Beautiful lobby, and shared areas, however the rooms were only okay at best. Only one key for all shared dorms, no backpack lockers, and the staffed wasnt very helpful, this was something everyone mentioned as well. The location is unreal, can't beat it, just don't expect more then a great location and you'll be fine.

To start with, it's a hostel. It ain't the president suite at the W Hotel. With that said, this place is not just a bargain, it's a steal! I paid $8/night. What I got was a*super* clean bathroom, hot water for showers (24hours/day), clean sheets, clean towel, good bed, good night sleep, and a place with a *super* location. 15 second walk to good food, 25 second walk to metro, one minute walk to MAJOR site-seeing. If you just need aplace to sleep/shower - Cordial House is the place to be!!

Overall this hostel was great. Great location, staff was extremely helpful. The front desk staff suggested sites to see and helped us book a tour and a turkish bath. It was clean and internet worked well. I would stay here again.

The hostel was clean, in a great location, and pretty good value for money. The internet was good, excellent connection in the lobby sitting area, and OK reception in the room I was in. The staff (I think owners) at reception gave a very average welcome and service each time I dealt with them. They were very unhelpful in almost every way. There is a weird key system to the dorms where there is only one key per dorm - annoying. Therefore the room is unlocked most of the time.

It is a very good hostel, and staff really impressed us, they were so helpful and interested in helping us, even showing us night clubs, and going out with us. It was a bit cold in the nights, but they gave us extra blankets. I have nothing bad to say about it. It is very close to tram station and all the monuments in Istanbul, I would recommend it to everyone :))

The location is superb. It is right near the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and a short walk to the Grand Bazaar. The rooms are a little chilly at night but there are extra blankets in the closet. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was well kept. The Wifi is only available in the lobby and kind of works in the rooms depending where your room is. Overall, it was a good value hostel.

our stay here was awesome in terms of the its facilities as well as location as it is near to sultanaahmet where most of the tourist sites accumulate there..the only things that i think they need to improve is the way they socialize with the customers...lack of social skills and communication. At least simple smile is more than enough to make us feel valued and welcomed....will definitely stay here again with some improvement...please treat your customers with more respect next time,,thanks

The hostel was clean, but the kindness the name implies was nowhere to be found. The workers at the front desk were rude. They hesitated to answer even simple questions and behaved as if every action was an inconvenience to them...even checking in. After traveling extensively in Turkey, İ was appalled at the behavior of the staff. Plus our soap and shampoo was previously used, no water to drink in the room as most places offer, no breakfast, and a cup of bag tea is expensive in lobby cafe.

This was a great place and definitely worth the money, especially for its location---it's super close to the coast, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and Egyptian/spice market!!

I was surprised by the lack of communication between other Hostel stayers. No one seemed to want to meet other people. The staff was fine, but not very friendly and made me feel unwelcome.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Caitlin, Thank you for your stay in Cordial House. I guess the reason why the guests hanging out in the lobby did not talk with each other is the technologhy, smart phones, ipad and computers! Even group of friends may comunicate each other via facebook, twitter etc..we never say our guests not to talk each others ! Manager

I've stayed in the hostel twice and I was very satisfied with it. First time I've stayed in a double room, which I found small for two people. But then I stayed at the woman dormitory, and I really liked it. Staff are helpful and friendly, also you get a discount on all your drinks and food at the lobby. The location is very good and safe. I recommend the dormitory for your pleasant stay in London :-)
