The hostel was priced pretty well and it serves your purpose. However the bathroom(the walls) was downright cringe worthy and I felt like it was a mexican prison! Also the room was adequate but felt a little dusty and just not comfortable to be in. The staff was alright but not overly friendly. Also the wifi wasn't powerful and I noticed my IPad would go in and out. They also give you a $20 coupon for the cafe across the street(the food there) was pretty good.

good hostel to stay in but is abit far from train station and hard to find... watch out there is another street name 'Rixing'... good atmosphere and meet up with many new people.

The direction to the hostel is confusing, need to improve or change the direction for easy to locate. The common lobby is cramp hardly allows more than 3 person to sit together.

Room and facilities are basic, but with the price is reasonable. Location is a bit further away from Feng chia but you can always take a taxi there, about TWD 150 per way. Hostel is actually nearer to the old part of the town. Easy access to bus and taxi. Food and 7-11 is within walking distance. John, the owner is always friendly and eager to help in anyway.

The hostel was ok, but I've never seen the staff... I was tired for the trip and I felt sick so I couldn't go out and search for the staff. And during evening I really didn't know were to find them: when I needed some help I couldn't ask for it since nobody was there. The hostel was raelly cold.

i booked a private double room but i totally didn't know that there is no wifi in the room and only ADSL is available. Unfortunately my own computer is now very good at connecting to network via ADSL and thus I suffered the poor network connection for the whole night, which also ruined my day after. Perhaps their dormitory is better than private room.

The stay at Corner's backpacker was horrible. There was no one at our hostel at our designated check in time. When the staff finally arrived, she was helpful and gave instructions on a horrible hand drawn map.

We stayed in the female dorm. This is an average hostel, but there are not many options in Taichung. It is expensive for what you are provided with- a bunk with overly springy mattresses in a dusty room in a hostel with no communal area. Compared to what other hostels provide in Taiwan this is pretty limited. Some simple things could be done to improve it - some chairs with backs in them so you can sit in the room comfortably, night lights for each bed, a kettle that actually plugs into the wall

Great place to stay, definitely get your money's worth. Located in the heart of Taichung city, this is a must stay.

The location is ok , where is quite convenient to take bus to Taichung train station and then take other transportation to other tourist spots. The room is clean and tidy. However, the lavatory...the shower heads and the switching knob seems having problem. The heating system and shower facility should be improved cox of big noise is created during heating bath water. *Staff is very friendly to offer transportation information and give helping hands. I will definitely stay again!

location of the hostel is a bit out of the way, and if you're planning on going to the night market its about $150 nt by taxi after the buses stop running. the guy working there was incredibly friendly though, and his sister has a nice brunch place across the street. cons against this place would be its mattresses- not the most comfortable...and the first day of us staying there our washroom had an unpleasant smell but the next day it was fine. overall, an ok stay for 1-2 days.

The 6 people dorm i was staying at was a bit messy and dim coz one of the light bulb went missing. The owner of the hostel wat not staying in the hostel ,so bascially we went in n out by our own. But he;s still very helpful in giving suggestions and directions on planning my trip. Good point is the toilet and bathroom is very clean.

Corner Backpacker was the best hostel experience I've had to date. Our room was beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and the location was excellent. We had a great time, and if we're ever in Taichung again, our choice is clear.

The host was very nice. I was late for the appointed check in time and they actually waited for me to finish my breakfast at Iris' before bringing me go the accommodation. Jessie had made the effort to prepare an easy and exceptional map and explained the routes to attractions in details, even to Sun Moon Lake. The place I stayed had security monitoring and it was very well equipped, very warm and welcoming. I had a great time staying at the hostel and definitely will recommend it.

Enjoyed my stay at CBP in Taichung. Location is decent enough given it's a fairly spread out city, the map and information Jessie gave was absolutely superb and a great help! Very near the bus for Lugang, busses from Sun Moon Lake are back at the station, so a short bus ride or about a 25 minute walk. All very clean and the shower gel and shampoo free to use was a nice touch. My only complaint was that the bed was kind of full of springs and a bit short for us over 6 foot!

Well located, meaning near to bus stop from train station, direct bus to Taipei, Night market and museum. It's a good place to stay. I didn't really talked to the staff, but they gave me a really helpful map, I didn't need anything else. It's clean and rooms are big enough.
