Not the cheapest one, but ok and with an excellent location in \"downtown\" - no lockers

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the atmosphere of the hostel. It is very small, but everybody was very friendly. I got a voucher for a free meal, which was pretty good for a free meal. Just the bathrooms(showers, toilets and wash basins) are not that handy, because there are not many.

Nice and charming hostel in the heart of Cairns, close to all nightlife locations, supermarkets and the relaxed Lagoon. We really enjoyed our time at Corona Backpackers! The hostel has got everything a traveler needs: a well equipped and clean kitchen, clean bathrooms on each floor and a fridge on each room so your beer stays cold ;) The professional and friendly staff was very understanding when we were hangover and paid too late. They also give you good deals with 20 % off all tours.

The hostel is great value for your money, great location, clean but to be honest the best thing is the staff. I have been in hostels all over the world and no one ever has been more on top of everything than Angelo. He´s the man if you need advice on stuff to do and see around Cairns. Keep up the good work guys!

Loved this hostel! The location and staff are EXCELLENT, and the hostel itself isn\'t bad at all! I would absolutely stay here again.

Really friendly hostel and good value for money. Great location and they give a good discount on tours. Only downside is that there is no common room as the kitchen shuts at 10.30pm

Great hostel for what I paid. Staff were great and the most helpful I have met on my trip. Only issue was the lack of showers that were constantly busy. But still I would love to stay there again.

This is absolutely a wonderful place! Clean as no other hostel I've been to. It is basic but absolutely well worth of your money. And the staff performs the best service I have experienced in my life! Angelo is the best man you can find behind a counter in the world. :P I loved it!

Keep up the good work and attention in making sure guests have the best stay at your hostel. We got a different vibe staying at Corona's as opposed to other hostels. Seems as though Corona actually wants to make sure that people's stay is good. Good work.

I really enjoyed my stay, the only thing I missed was AC in the building, a few more extra cups in the kitchen and it would be nice with a TV-room or something similar open 24-7. Extra points for fridges in the rooms, enough space in the room and comf beds. Nice cleaners as well who did a great job! Thank you!

Ive been to several different hostels in australia and new zealand and most were average and not worth reviewing, but i gotta say, this one exceeded all others and that is for two reasons. 1. the staff and namely, the owner, who is at the front desk (almost daily) is far more helpful than any other hostel ive been to. they're able to provide enumerable details on various tours that proved they had been on them themselves. and for 12$ a night, can't beat it!

Staff told us wrong information about using their internet and charged us extra. Then when we questioned them about this they were very patronising. New staff should be trained properly and guests should not feel the consequences for their incompetence. Free meal is ok in the pub down the road - mostly carbs but you can use it as a discount from nicer meals.

We stayed at Coronas for 5 nights and thought it was very nice (especially since it was only 12 dollars a night). There were some problems though, aircondition is much needed in Cairn. The reception hours were seriously awful 8-12 am and 4-7 pm, so if you had to check out early to catch a bus, you couldn't.. On the first floor there was only one zink! It was in the same room as the showers, so if anyone was showering you couldn't wash your hands. Otherwise the stay was great, great location :)

Stayed 3 nights here, was overall quite pleased. Pro tip: PICK THE TOP BUNK. The rooms have pretty high ceilings where the fans are, and if you take the bottom bunk you can't really feel the fan!

We arrived late the night of February 14th, but Angelo stayed around to let us in, which was extremely thoughtful of him considering it was Valentine's Day and the Mrs. was growing impatient.

You cannot beat the price-value relationship, and the location is excellent, too. They also do tour bookings with the best deal in town - at least i did not find any better. The only thing - there is no card payment possibility at all. So when you take any tour, the prepayment part you have to do in cash (ca 10 %).
