Great hostel! The staff was always available and very helpful. The security was amazing and I was always safe. This is very important for a young female travelling on thier own. Great service and the quality of the hostel is very good.

I had a great time at this hostel. They keep it nice and clean and having a pool and hammocks to hang out in so close to the center of san jose is a real treat. It is a bit of a walk to the center but all in all a good tradeoff. The area is safer than many areas and the atmosphere at the hostel is very friendly.

This place is okay for for a short stay. The security is okay bring ur own lock as the lock they provide sux.,Not very safe I found the web site, I was a little ticked about because I booked a five bed .. But at the hostel it was five bunk beds which knelt up to ten ppl not five u have to share with... The best thing about this hostel is free wifi and the back yard hammocks pool very nice to look at. Noise : there is a train that goes right through the back blowing the horn and whistle non stop

We were totally put off staying here again as during our stay on Thursday 5th April, we had to slept next door to some people who required 2 armed police gaurds to watch over them. All night we had these armed police outside our room, which is not very pleasent for a tourist. I am unsure why such people are allowed to stay in a hostel and not in jail. Therefore we will find somewhere else to stay

Owner Comment (Show)
Hello By International Laws, refugees MUST be protected and secure in a place where they can acttually feel safe. The Costa Rica Government CHOSE our hostel because we are the MOST SECURE HOSTEL in the country and we provide the best services. You shouldn´t feel scared, you should feel more than safe in our hostel. Who belongs in jail, is in jail. Those people need help, they are only affraid to go back home.

Pool, Bar, Wifi or computers to use...this is a fantastic hostel setup. I was only there a few nights but would have been so much better if the bar person turned up the music a bit and had better happy hour deals to bring the guests all together instead of most hanging in groups they travel in all around the hostel grounds. Restuarant next door has good food also.

Great hostel! Make sure you get a lock and key that work initially. We almost didn't get our deposit back because we were given a broken lock and asked to share a locker. Otherwise it was a good spot to land. Make sure you get the shuttle from the airport. Its cheaper than a cab.

I had a great time at this hostel. The staff was good helping me navigate town and helping me set up an adventurous trip. This is defiantly a young, party atmosphere and the people you meet here will want to go out and have fun, or have fun right at the hostel. If you are looking for a nice romantic get away with lots of sleep and relaxation then choose a different hostel. If you want to meet young, cool people that want to have a good time, then stay here. Easy as that. Thanks backpackers.

Staff was a great introduction to the hospitality and charm of the Costa Rican people. This was a pretty good place to land for my first night in the country after a flight from the US. Just a short walk to the center of San Jose, past interesting museums and pretty parks. Hostel had a super pool, a good restaurant, and hammocks for loafing. Thumbs up.
