The staff are very helpful and very nice. They're willing to help with anything. The only issues I had was the location and how old the hostel looks. The hostel looks really old and dirty but it was clean. The location is really difficult to drive to so make sure you have detailed directions. It's very far from the downtown area, but there is a bus that goes there from the hostel that is very convenient.

You should definitely pay in US-Dollar because the exchange course is really bad (1:550). Our room had no window, there is no soap in the bathroom and you don't get a key for the front door, so you have to ask the staff every time to let you in and out (and if somebody comes home in the middle of the night, he/she will wake everybody up). Apart from that the hostel is a nice and cheap place. :)

The owner was super nice and accommodating, he pick us up at the airport and dropped us off at the bus station early the next morning. My wife believed that the sheets were not clean but everything else was great. Very secure location. There was a fan so the room was cool. We had the room with a private (very small) bathroom and an attached kitchen. It was a safe, quiet, location. Cleaner sheets would have greatly improved our experience.

I love this hostel! It is located 20 minutes from San Jose but that's fine because the bus on the corner takes straight to San Jose. The neighborhood is also amazing...it is super friendly and safe. I highly recommend costa rica love hostel
