Being an avid traveler, owner Adam, knows what backpackers are looking for. He will join the party and show you some of the better places in town, sometimes giving you a ride. The hostel has a good social atmosphere with beers available for purchase, relaxing patio area to party with the other guests, and weekly events hosted by the staff. It is still a work in process but you can tell it's headed in the right direction and being the only party-hostel in Veracruz, it is definitely worth a stay.

Great place to hang out and unwind after travelling too hard. I spent way more time than intended here just because it was close to shops, restaurants and the hostel owner has organised activities (interesting documentaries, discussions etc.) and outings to the top restaurants and bars. The hostel has a good common area (although the shade structure was slightly askew after a sandstorm), kiddy pool, rooftop area to see the sea. Also the owner Adam is an avid traveller with stacks of good advice.

Great place to stay, you'll meet very interesting people here. Very close to the most important aquarium in latino america and to the ocean, downtown. Great nights out with the Counter Cultured, interesting conversations. Confortable place to stay.

One of the best hostel where I ever stayed. Veracruz is the Best City in Mexico to party and I had a great time there. The atmosphere was particular because you don't feel like another number. The building rooftop and the patio where really nice and the location was perfect to go to the beach and the aquarium.

Good central location to all the attractions and a great hostel atmosphere. I love how everyone hangs out together in the social area and how the staff takes everyone out to the good nightlife spots every day of the week. Definitely the best place to stay in Veracruz if you want to meet people and party.

This was my first time to Veracruz and I was able to have a great time because I was at Counter Culture - party hostel! The place has an awesome laid back atmosphere, fantastic staff, and great security. You will be able to sleep sound at night with all of the security this place has! If you are able to meet Adam, owner of Counter Culture, he will go above and beyond to make sure you are taken of. I would highly recommend staying here! 10 out of 10!

A really fun hostel, I stayed here for Carnaval and had an amazing time! Met loads of nice people and Adam the owner was really friendly and took us to one of the local clubs after the parade. Free pancakes were an awesome bonus when you wanted something quick! Worth mentioning that this is a brand new hostel which means brand new mattresses, sheets towels etc, a rarity in the backpacking world!

I've been travelling around Mexico for 2 months and this is the first place that is full of English speakers that love to socialise. I loved the fact that the hostel does everything as a group even the daily political tutorials which were a great idea. Best hostel I've stayed in Mexico by far.

Great group of people running this place, and it attracts a great crowd as well. Adam was more than awesome as a host and all the other staff members were totally rad as well. My "Al Fresco Suite" was exactly what I was expecting and exactly what I needed. Location is great, about a 5 minute walk away from a couple of cool beaches.

I've stayed in over 80 hostels and this place had one of the best vibes I've ever seen. Super social and friendly with a very chilled outside area. Really appreciated not having to set the alarm for breakfast too!

This hostel is new and still finding itself. Maintenance and remodeling work is ongoing. What I like about it is the sense of community. It's not just a place to crash.
