Pretty good hostel. Big place but doesnt feel cramped or over crowded at all. Nice facilities. Most staff are lovely. Central location. Super spacious private room. Quite impressed! :)

Staff was always friendly and helpful! Had something organized every night at the bar. The hostel is in a good location, is extremely clean, and also has free wifi 24 hours a day! Can't say anything bad about it, really enjoyed our stay!

Good hostel, loved the little gym and the climbing wall downstairs came in handy when the weather was bad!

I didn't believe earlier reviews about the dirty sheets, but unfortunately experienced it ourselves. Aside from that, the idiots who decided it was a great idea to begin partying outside our window on both nights we stayed, and the noise from downstairs common room that travelled all the way up to us on level three - it was fine. Gym was good considering barely any hostels I've stayed at throughout the world have had one and the rock climbing was great! Wouldn't recommend it unfortunately.

Staff are excellent at helping you book tours around Rotorua- We found them very honest and helpful with their advice regarding the different trips available. Wifi is free at this hostel but only works in certain areas! Kitchen is great- Usually very quiet and clean so easy to cook in! Plenty of shower/ toilet facilities. A few activities are also organised so good to get people together. A good hostel to stay in!

The hostel is near supermarkets, the acitivities and central in the city, near to the rotorua bus station (intercity etc) and the rotorua city bus. The rooms are clean and you have your own big locker where your can put the whole big bag into. The showers are big and you have enough space to change, the kitchen is useful and for the first 24h you get free internet. I liked my stay there as everything is close (if you have no car)h .

Would appreciate separate male and female bathrooms. Advertised free wi-fi but it was mysteriously not working during my stay.

This place was great! The location is perfect (basically right next to the Polynesian Spa) and the staff is great and knowledgeable. There was sooo much space in the 10 bed dorm and I appreciate that. Plenty of places to charge electronics. Nice seating area outside and inside as well as hot tub (though I didn't use it). My friend left her mobile phone and charger here and they found it and kept it at the front desk until we could go back to get it. Would stay here again!

This was a really great hostel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. From arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, booked any activities you wanted to take part in, chased up any issues and helped out in anyway they could. The rooms were clean and tidy with good sized lockers. The kitchen and living space's were both great too. Would definitely stay there again if I return to Rotorua.

I enjoyed my stay at Cranks very much. I was particularly happy there were ramps instead of stairs to all the floors. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. . I had booked a double room as I snore and also like my privacy as an older traveler.. I was very pleased with my room as it had a large window with a view over the street and beyond. The facilities in the kitchen and bathrooms were plentiful and spacious also. I will stay there again if I go to Rotorua.
