An average hostel at best, welcoming was average. Very boring atmosphere, a lot of things where dirty. Better places to stay in rotorua.

Fantastic hostel in great location. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, often referring to you by name making you feel at home. Rooms are cosy and warm in winter and hostel is spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it, loved my time here!

A very nice and clean hostel with excellent staff. I couldn't think of anything to complain, which is rather rare for me. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed at the Crash Palace for two nights and had a great time. The staff were awesome and treated us to Brownies and popcorn. The place was clean and there were activities organized each night. The palace is located in the center of town and convenient to most attractions. Hope to stay there again in the near future.

Rotorua was a bit of a disappointment after all of the other wonderful places we had been to in NZ. The Crash Palace was excellently located and clean enough, but had a bit of a grungy feel to it and added to our general grey mood about the city! The staff were very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. When you book a room, try and find one away from the kitchens or you'll have to deal with a lot of unwelcome smells. If you want a quiet night - the rooms overlooking the sauna are not for you!

Mud tour with Wee is really nice & its price is ok, especially because the money is for a good purpose.
