First the hostel didn\'t have the booking reference that I made on hostels.com. I had the confirmation email, but since they didn\'t have it they wouldn\'t accept the deposit I made. It was an average hostel, a bit grungy to be honest. I accidentally slept in ten minutes and the owner charged me ten dollars. It would be fine if there had been any sign saying this would happen but I was never told there were fees for late checkout and he was quite rude about it. Not my best stay :P

Good location next to cheap supermarket, short walk to ISITE and the rest of downtown. WiFi is strong and reasonably fast (not free). Well-equipped kitchen. Small, but nice hot tub. Rooms and bathrooms clean. Overall, enjoyed my stay here, would stay again.

Okay hostel, all the things felt really used and old but otherwise it was a good place, a bit strange that they have a kitchen on the second floor but no dining area so you had to go downstairs to be able to sit and eat. Smelled like rotten eggs but that´s not the hostels fault, damn those thermal pools! :P

Nice place to stay, clean kitchen, nice people. But the lake smells like a mixture of socks and eggs.

The staff at this hostel is great! They really take care of you as a customer and makes you feel at home. They have a bar with good prices and all other services as laundry and breakfast for an example is cheap. The free use of the hot tube is a plus in the protocol! We really enjoyed our stay here and can recommend this stay to everyone!

The hostel was very convenient for my partner and I, since it was close to all amenities such as the museum, cafes, restaurants and most of all our awesome chill out the Polynesian spa, the staff was great at allocating our rooms and the use of shared facilities such as the kitchen, living room, internet, public showers and toilets, the rooms were very well furnished with nice touch of cultural artworks and don't blame the common smell of Rotorua lol.....

Great place, only downside couldn't drink your own beverages until after 10pm when the bar closed..

A bit like a blokey student house, with similar levels of cleanliness. Some people will love it, with the dj playing in the eating area & things like the free BBQ, others will be less keen on the messy toilets without loo roll and the kitchens that could do with a good clean, especially the fridges. Private room was a good size, bed sagged and windows leaked. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free parking.

This is a really cool hostel and a great place to meet people. There are activities on most nights. The beds were a bit rickety and there was very little space to put you bags. No lockers or any secure place for valuables. All in all a great place.
