We had a wonderful time at Crash. The free BBQ on Friday was awesome, the bar hopping on Saturday night was super fun, and to top it off, they have a free jacuzzi!!! There is always sweet laid back music playing in the lounge area, so its a nice place to relax, check the internet, and meet people to travel with in town. I had an overall great time!

Please note that they hold on to your drivers license (or other photo id) so that they "know who is in the hostel". This is highly inconvenient for those who are driving and outrageous as no other hostel I have stayed at has this policy. In hot weather the rooms are very hot at night with no aircon. Showers are not that great. Rotorua can seem like a ghost town at night. Off street parking is a tight fit. It has two kitchens so they never felt over crowded. Heaters on all the time in summer!

I really enjoyed my stay at the crash palace! Great beds, facilities and staff. It was a nice change to have free rice, spices and pasta as well as coffee and tea. I also enjoyed the ESPN, got to watch Football for the first time in about a year! Cleanliness was also very good.

The hostel has 2 different kitchen and a BBQ. You can get a free BBQ some days per week. Even if you need wash your clothes, they can do for you and fold them in a cheap way

The staff were very friendly and helped you with everything. My only real complaint about it was the volume of the music being played, it made it hard to talk to people and make friends when there's loud music being played, especially when you are half deaf, it's not just me though, those I spoke to who were hearing thought the music was too loud.

The hostel has been renovating the place for past 5 mths to keep the place more modern, greatly appreciated. Does laundry for guests, has many paintings on wall - unique and artistic. Kitchen is well equipped & clean, even Provide cooking oil, pasta and rice - good gesture. Friendly staff - Max. Strict hostel as a guest had been sternly warned. Large living room, rooms and bathroom clean and comfortable. Even have bathtubs in female shower rooms. PaknSave supermarket round the corner,

The best hostel my friends and I ever been to! The owner Chris and the staff, especially Max do an incredible job and create a lovely atmosphere where everyone feels welcome! The house and all the facilities are in very good conditions and the have activities offered every day. Further they help you out with any problem and give you plenty of ideas to explore Rotorua and surrounding without spending a lot of money. Highly recommend to stay here!

A real home from home. My room was big and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Free BBQ one evening and a big library of DVDs. We had a H Potter marathon!! Lots of chill out space both indoors and out.

Stayed for 2-nights, Chris at the desk was awesome. Very Helpful. Assisted with booking tours, offered opinions and gave a good insight to all things Rotorua/NZ.
