Everything is just fine about Cruz del Sur as a building - it's warm, clean and there is always hot water. However, what REALLY made it amazing are the staff. They are so helpful and friendly that staying at Cruz del Sur becomes almost like staying with friends :) All of the members of staff were very nice but we've dealt with Ana and Carla mostly and we'll simply miss them :) Oh, and go for the Lago Esmeralda trip they do as it comes with AMAZING asado afterwards!
The hostel offers everything you are looking for as a traveler: nice communal areas which makes it really easy to meet people, a good kitchen (however it is closed and locked from 11 pm to 8:30 am, what can be a problem if you have a tour earlier or your food is in the refrigerator and you are hungry!), friendly atmosphere, nice and helpful staff, hostel is very clean. The rooms are a little small for 6 people and their luggages. Anyway, I would recommend it for sure!
It is a good hostel BUT. The kitchen is closed from 11pm to 830am!! If you're an early riser and are hungry or have some food in the fridge it's too bad, you just will have to wait cause the kitchen is LOCKED. I didn't like that. Also, there is no plugs in the rooms so you have to leave your device in the common areas. Not handy when your phone is your only alarm. The staff is really nice but I felt like they were supporting some tour companies more than others. Also, no wifi in the rooms.
Great central location. Rooms were a little small though.
Staff is really nice and Ana will give you loads of info on what to do in Ushuaia. The hostel is very clean and well located. A good choice for your stay, I really enjoyed mine :) The only downsides are the wi-fi only available in the "salon" (so people only go there to check their phones and not really to exchange with others...) and the absence of plugs in the rooms. But definitely a very good value for money! I would recommend this hostel for sure.
Probably the best hostel I stayed in during my trip in Argentina. Helpful advice from the staff (who tend to shout and run around all the time :)) in a clean, comfortable, well-secured place. Located parallel to Ushuaia's main street you can find nice places to eat and shop very quickly.
most likely the best hostel and the warmest in whole ushuaia. the staff could not be better than they were, and they made our stay perfect and happy. the treatment from the crew made every penny paid worth it. very recommended!!
I really enjoyed the time there :). Thanks to Anna and Nico ! Very helpful and cool :) !!! The hostel is clean and in the center. The only bad thing is : the wifi isn't in the room...but well better then to meet people :)
Great hostel! The staff is great and very helpful.. The environment is very nice and the hostel is always clean! My friends and I enjoyed it a lot!

The hostel overly crowded, especially in the kitchen area. On the plus side, Ana was very helpful and they gave a decent exchange rate for dollars to pesos.
Excellent hostel, good location, staffs arw nice, rooms and common room are clean, wifi works well, highly recommended.
I've had a great time at Cruz del Sur! The location is awesome, close to everything, and the staff is great. Nico and Ana help a lot!
the staff is nuts (in a positive way :)). In the evening the kitchen is very busy, easy to hang out and meet fellow travellers. Annoying thing: everywhere (!) signs telling you what is prohibited. (Including a sign saying that it is forbidden to have sex. If they find you having sex, they make you leave the hostel), which is sort of awkwards, we are all grown ups..
Great hostel with a friendly atmosphere and nice set up with a chill out common room. Lockers rather small and rooms a bit crammed. However, with the great atmosphere there you won't mind being around people and you'll fell your belongings are safe enough.
Amazing hostel - with great atmosphere. Easy to meet people, and staff were very helpful with activities to do in Ushuaia.
The hostel was pretty much closed between the hours of 11pm and 8:30am. I had an early flight at 10am. The woman at the counter told me she would call a cab the night before but she must have forgotten. I waited for half an hour at 8am, and it never came. Eventually I had to go to another hostel and have them call a cab for me. Plus the no shoes rule is really inconvenient.
Booked for 1 night, but ended up staying for a week here. It's a colourful, family run hostel with a good atmosphere. The staff were fantastic, the breakfasts were great, and the bathrooms were extremely clean. The only downside is a tiny kitchen. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
Staff were very friendly and helpful with tour information. Dog was really cute. Recommended a lovely sea food restaurant 😄
Great hostel! Cool backpacker atmosphere, perfect location and the friendliest and most helpful staff you could ask for. Thanks a lot!
