The location of the hostel is really far away from the center of shenzhen, in certain part this is a positive thing due to the point that you can get relaxed here, but it takes type to get to the place where everything is going on.

Very well maintained hostel located in expat area. Bad side is that there are a lot of sleazy bars opposite.

It's easy to find the place. You can just walk from guest house to ferry terminal, so it's perfect if after from Shenzhen you want to go to Macau. The design interior makes the place feels cozy and homy. My suggestion are they need to put mat in front of the door and bathroom. But over all the room is clean. Maybe they can give at least free coffee, tea and mineral water for the guest to make & WiFi need to be improved. I will definitely come back there if I go to Shenzhen again.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in and I've been on the road for 18 months now. Bota is a lovely English speaking girl on reception who helped me with everything I needed. The place is clean and the beds are comfy. Would definitely recommend a stay in this quiet area for peace and tranquility. Thank you for a great experience. See you again soon guys!

Heavens! I thought i was in heaven when i saw the bath-tub in my dorm's ensuite bathroom; in my opinion, the Crystal Garden is actually a 3-star hotel with a few rooms converted for dorm use, it's that classy! (Unfortunately, the prices in the restaurant reflect this, with a regular coffee going for 20rmb.) The hostel itself is situated almost at the end of a metro line, but it's located in a very high-end neighbourhood, with loads of western food establishments. Excellent value for money.

Nice new hostel! Good location when you use the ferry, otherwise quiet far from the rest of the city. The street where it is located is not so easy to find, they will need to provide a good map! Very friendly people. Soft beds (and that is really rare in china!)

If you don't mind being in Shekou (a nice neighbourhood on the water in the Western part of Shenzhen) this guest house (which has dorm rooms with 6 beds in addition to really nice private rooms) is much better than the other options in town. This place is definitely better than Grand Theater hostel, and I also think it's better than the Shenzhen Loft hostel (although you could at least make the case that hostel is the best).

Brand new hotel with really nice staff. The dorm style rooms are a little small but have very comfortable beds and a GREAT shower.
