I originally booked to stay here for 4 nights, but was wary when I arrived at the hostel and couldn't see any other guests, and was asked for money straight away without seeing the room. I had tried to book a single room, but like most hostels in India, you can only book a double (even if the rate is advertised as a single rate on the internet). I made my booking via hotelworld.com, and the hostel owner didn't know of this until I rang on the morning of travel to ask for an airport pick up. I d

We are sorry to inform you that the guest did not follow the standard practice & policies and also wanted to flee quietly in the very early morning without paying her bill / dues and when she was caught red handed she started making lame excuses and paid less. Now she has started this blame game / fault finding and malicious & false propaganda against us through internet / guest reviews to tarnish our image and spoil our business. So kindly stop this slander! Please help us by removing this false & malicious review. Guest booked a room through hostelworld in the evening of 31st October 2011 to check in on next day i.e. 1st November, 2011. On special request of the Guest we provided her a Pick up from the airport which was a chargeable service and not included in the room rent, we made it very clear to the guest in the beginning. For pick up we have to hire a car with driver who will go to the airport, pay the parking, wait for the guest and then pick up the guest and drive the guest to the hostel. Definitely, we will have to charge for the service provided to the guest. We are failed to understand what is wrong in it. Guest booked the room through hostelworld and submitted his booking slip. We asked her to make the balance payment. Asking for upfront payment / balance payment from the guest on arrival / before check in is a usual practice of the hostels, there is nothing new or abnormal in it. Hostel is situated at a very prime location of Jaipur and well connected with frequent public transport facility round the clock. You can hire an auto-rickshaw / Taxi at any time and are available at walking distance (hardly around 100 meters or so) from the hostel. So it is completely wrong and mischievous to say that auto- rickshaw won't drive you to the old walled city, if it was so then how she moved around during her 2 days stay with us, specially how could she come back in late evening / at night after sightseeing and again how could she go back in the morning after leaving the hostel. The Guest herself saying / admitting that it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the old walled city. Now Jaipur has expanded in the radius of 30 - 40 kilometers. So 10 minutes drive is nothing looking to the heavy traffic and metro work in progress. For your kind information Metro Train is going to start from 2013. We also arrange conveyance for the convenience of the guest and obviously we will have to charge for that. What is wrong in that, we are failed to understand. The Guest wanted to go for sightseeing by conducted tours which starts their journey form a particular place and time. So the guest had to reach to that particular point on appointed time (before 8.30 AM) to catch the sightseeing bus; she also needed to buy the tickets before that as she did not book in advance. So with the permission and for the convenience of the guest we arranged a transport to drive her to that particular place and also help her in getting tickets and boarding into the bus. When they reached to the venue of the sightseeing buses they were told that the same had been shifted to some other place a couple of days ago, so the driver had to go first to the original place and then to the new place if he had not been there, she could have missed the sightseeing bus and wasted her whole day. There is nothing new or unusual or wrong in charging for the services that are not included in the room rent whether that is a pick up, drop, tea or food or any other thing /facility. Also leaving room keys with the hostel is a very common practice so that room can be cleaned and toiletries can be changed / replaced. All our rooms are well lit & ventilated and have windows so it's totally wrong or baseless to say that there were no windows. Hostel as a whole is a cool and calm place to stay so it is totally wrong to say that Upstairs rooms are little bit noisy. The Guest booked the room with shared lat bath for 4 days for Rs. 6703.92 through hostelworld and had to pay the balance of Rs.5940 on arrival. On arrival guest wanted to reduce her stay to 2 days from 4 days. According to standard policy / practice guest is not allowed to reduce his stay / cancel the booking in this way even then if he does so, he will be liable to pay the balance / full amount of the original booking, as the case may be. So the guest had to pay Rs.5940 but she didn't. We also shown her a better room / room with attached lat bath for Rs.2000 per day and she preferred to stay in that. If she had paid Rs.4000 for a better room for two days what is special in that. So she still had caused a net loss of Rs.2970* (5940/2) for two days (cancelling her two days stay). She also availed of other services like pick up, drop, tea, food etc. that were not included in the room rent. So we handed over a bill of Rs.2145 for these services to her in the evening of 2nd November, after she came back from sightseeing. She told us to pay the same in the morning. Next day, on 3rd November, in the early morning, she left the room / hostel with her bag and baggage without clearing the bill and even without informing us. When we came to know about it, we had to send our man after her to search/find out her who found her looking for the conveyance to flee. When our man asked her why she left the hostel without making the payment and also without telling us, then she started making lame excuses that she came to take out money from the ATM. When he further asked why she took all her bag and baggage along with her if she wanted to take out money; she was not having a satisfactory reply. Then she had to come back and make the payment that too Rs.1500 instead of 2145. She caused another loss of Rs.645**. So she caused a total loss of Rs.2970*+ 645** = Rs.3615 to us. . We believe in forgive and forget. Thinking that guest will definitely realize her own mistake one day. We always try to avoid unnecessary confrontation or unpleasant situation. But now we are surprised to see her false & malicious review on tripadviser and also on hostelworld far from the facts. Instead of realizing her mistakes and wrong doing, she is trying to tarnish our image and spoil our business. Lie has no legs to stand upon. You kindly compare the review posted at trip advisor and hostelworld. At tripadvisor, she gave cleanliness 5 out of 5 (means 100%) at hostelworld she says 60%. On tripadvisor she says, room and service were 3 out of 5 (means very good or 60%) at hostelworld she says it were 40%. On tripadvisor she says location 2 out of 5 (means 40%) at hostelworld she says it was 20%. On tripadviser she says, "I enjoyed the food, it was excellent / DELICIOUS and owner's wife and daughter were thoroughly friendly", but says otherwise on hostelworld. On one hand she says on tripadvisor, she would not recommend for her friends on the other hand she says," it would be fine for couples and family".
