Good location, beautiful view over the colorful garden, friendly staff. Bed was comfortable but bathroom really dirty.

The property is situated on a main road and the traffic noise makes sleep difficult. The bathroom was very basic and dirty and the food was poor.

We stayed in room 1 , which was damp-smelling and had a leaky basin. Then after climbing the mountain we returned and stayed for 2 nights in room 2 which was much nicer. The rooms had private balconies overlooking the valley. The lodge was a brisk 9 minutes walk from the entrance to Kinabalu Park along a busy road with no footpath - not nice at night. Breakfast (included) was OK but dinners were pricier than the place opposite the park and small in quantity. The room price was CHEAP !

The views here are stunning and it was in a great location for Kinabalu National Park. The staff were very friendly but the room was a total let down. The bathroom smelt awful and we were kept up all night by the very noisy rats that were running through the walls. Food was cheap and tasted ok. It was a huge shame that such a beautiful place and friendly staff were let down by a fowl smelling bathroom, (not a little hum, you struggled to go in), and rat ridden walls. Wouldn't stay here again.

Run by some of the funniest women around, I enjoyed my stay here. Great location, great food, clean rooms, though nothing overly special in terms of decor. I'm sure the view would have been wonderful if the weather cooperated. It was colder than I expected, so bring warm clothes! This is not the place to come for excitement, but it is a place to come for warm welcomes and great service.

It is outside the park so the prices are very reasonable (as opposed to very high prices inside the park). It also has a nice restaurant with wonderful views over the valley (bit exposed though when weather is cold/wet - be prepared to have the right clothes!) The room was perfectly warm enough & comfortable although basic & staff were helpful). Also note it is a good 10/15 walk along the road to the park.

Repainting the room recently, so the smell still strong. But the cottage really has good view, if you want to stay here,do'nt save money living at dorms. The good view is worthy of paying! I would like to stay here again! Even they didn't provide free wifi but you can go to the kitabalu park, there is free wifi there!
