The hostel is conveniently located near the entrance to Mount Kinabalu Park, you can literally walk in 5-10 minutes. The mini-vans from Kota Kinabalu stop there if you request it. We stayed in low season when the 12-people dorm was empty except for us. It was ok, the toilet was gross though. Except for that, the family that owns it is really really nice. The food they cook is good enough and cheap for the place. Coffee is *, as in the rest of Malaysia.

Lovely family run Lodge. Very nice and friendly people. Props: The people who run this are lovely and will do anything for you. Amazing views. Nice food and good value. Short walk to the National Park. On the KK / Sanderkan bus route. Small shop for snacks on site. Cons: If you don't like insects, you might struggle here. Close to road, so bit of traffic noise. No shops close by. For what you pay, this is great! Did I mention the people are lovely :)

Majority of staff were very friendly & work hard. The one guy that works there, not so much, unprofessional and "jokingly" complained when he had to do anything by shouting, after 2 days this became pretty tiresome. The dorm IS very cold, the slat glass windows are broken so don't close & the bathroom has holes for vents. Bathroom is grubby and has a lot of big spiders around the ceiling. There's a dog and 2 cats, friendly but no warning for those who are allergic. No lockers. Ok for a pit stop
