Wonderful little place to stay in Riomaggorie. Staff are really friendly and we were able to do some washing! The only thing is, it's a small walk into the main strip of town but if you're used to hiking this shouldn't be a major issue. Also wifi is located at the office (a 5 min walk) not the house. We had a great stay, the place was cleaned every morning and we enjoyed meeting other travellers and having a glass of wine on the patio.

Beware of Da Luciano, a double name for "Affittacamere Patrizia"! We booked three private rooms, but in our arrival we were offered only two rooms. We communicated to the staff that we had booked three private rooms and they tried to squeeze us to an apartment where one of the rooms didn't have window nor door. Warm water didn't work in one of the rooms and when we complained about the issue, the staff was very reluctant to solve it and their English knowledge suddenly ended there.

Avoid at all costs. The way we were dealt with was truly appalling. We had booked the wrong room option by mistake. On asking if we'd be able to change our booking on arrival we were told yes - great. They tried to charge us about 40% above the advertised rate for a double room, acting flustered. They denied all knowledge of the Hostelworld deposit and that it went to them. When we queried the prices the two owners became increasingly aggressive to the point where I felt physically threatened.

The room was a great size for the 3 of us. Clean bathroom clean and spacious (enough) beds. Our room was in a PERFECT location, they have rooms all over the town we got lucky with one in the center and not way up the hill. I previously read people compalining about the stairs but if you go to cinque terre there are stairs everywhere and they are not that bad. The staff was very nice and did not fuss about check out. There is no wifi but its better that way, be social. Downside: no breakfast

The owner was a lot of fun and the staff was great. That said, this isn't really a hostel so be prepared as you're really just renting a room in someone's house. They said there would be wi-fi, but there isn't. The wifi is actually only available at their office and only during their opening hours, so be prepared to be completely cut off from the outside world. The view from the room is incredible and the room itself is clean and (get ready) has AC which is fantastic.

For the 3 of us, the room was very cramped. We did appreciate having a small fridge available.

This was a nice place to stay! It was very close to everything. It was right by the train station that took you between the cities. There are a lot of steps to get to it but not too bad. It was cute and comfortable.

Visitors to the Cinque Terre must understand that many of the hostels/hotels don't have one specific building, but rather a series of rooms that are spread throughout the town. Da Luciano is like this. I found Da Luciano to be great. Giovanni and Lilliana, the managers/owners, were direct and helpful. The room was clean and in a great location. I would suggest that visitors adjust their expectations re: WiFi - it's not commonly available in individual rooms, but instead in public places/offices.

The room was exceptionally clean, and a couple of glasses and a corkscrew was a nice touch. The office at 25 Via Colombo was easy to find, and check in worked well. Da Luciano is locatted quite high in Riomaggiore, up a lot of steps from Via Colombo. If you were travelling with a lot of luggage, this might make it difficult, but if you are travelling light, then it is no problem. Nice view from Da Luciano, across a valley to terraced vineyards. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We had to climb 297 steps to get to our room because the elevator was "broken" (and looked like it hasnt been working for years.) After a day of hiking, this treck up the stairs was not appreciated. Also, they don't take credit cards and the wifi only works by the office and not at night.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view out the window was breathtaking! We were very thankful that the hostel owner carried our suitcase up all of these stairs for us.

The location was good and it was very cheap. the staff were not so nice, and our bed broke and so did the shower door. they switched the bed but didn't deal with the shower. it was clean.

Beautiful views! Clean rooms and bathrooms. Really friendly staff :) People complain about the stairs. There aren't many. Don't be so lazy. Thanks for a great stay!

We reserved a private room with shared bathroom but he upgraded us to our own little place with a newly renovated bathroom. Super clean, but no wifi in the rooms.... Have to go to office to use and then only works during day and is turned off at night. As far as the walk uphill, all of cinque terra is a walk uphill so what do you expect?! Really enjoyed our stay!

Staff were really friendly and we managed to get upgraded :) Location was great. Only thing - my friend ended up booking another night, and she was able to move rooms to one that had a balcony (fantastic!), but they made her pay for two people still...was a bit strange and not ideal especially being a traveller and trying to stick to budgets, but all in all it was a great stay in a beautiful place I would definitely stay again, and recommend it to friends/family that visit.

Great location, however only one toilet/shower in the apartment wasnt ideal as it was shared between three rooms (8 people).

Big walk up the hill. No Internet in room.

First Riomaggiore is the best town to stay in Cinque Terre and DL has a great location. Apparently they have 2 properties one closer down the street and the other a bit up the street. There are quite a few stairs to the second location but it is worth it! The views are fantastic and its private and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only negative, which is pretty petty, is the WiFi isn't in room, its only at the office.

Hostel room wasn't anywhere near where you check in. We climbed 355 steps to get to our room! Was a hike. It would be great if this was mentioned that the rooms are not easily accessible. If we had more luggage than back packs we wouldn't be able to get up to the room! Otherwise a great place with fantastic view.
