Great location for Cairo. It's a rooftop oasis that you increasingly appreciate as your stay progresses. It clean, friendly and value for money. It's the perfect way to escape the heat, dust and clamour of the streets, gather yourself before setting out again. It's superbly located downtown and the staff have recommendations for visits, food and travel. Highly recommend. Only criticism is the beds could do with an update.

Great, value for money, downtown hostel within walking distance of many things and the metro, which is so easy to use. Also had a White Desert excursion which was wonderful when there but an awfully long way for one night out in the desert. Beds varied but I slept comfortably.

Great rooftop terrace. The twin rooms were very small i.e. enough room for 2 beds only. Also no sheet provided i.e. only mattress protector and blanket. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast not included however the room was cheap.

Dahab Hostel is a great base of operations to explore Cairo from. This isn't a luxery hoel by any stretch of the imagination but you get good value for the price. This is really a bed to sleep in kind of deal. Also, you can't beat the character of this rooftop hostel. Great views of city and located right by Tahir Square. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only real negative is that they were out of towels when I stayed. My advice is to bring you own. (I stayed in April, can't comment on AC)

The staff at Dahab Hostel, which is part of Red Sea Relax Resort, was great, especially Said who worked the evening shift. Very helpful and informative. Although the hostel was across the street from the beachfront Resort, dorm residents could use all the resort facilities, including the beautiful swimming pool. A big living room with full kitchen was next to the 2 dorm bedrooms. The free breakfasts offered a wide variety of food including made to order omelets. Great place to stay.

Dahab is a beautiful oasis perfectly located, with friendly staff and interesting guests. However, the blankets were smelling and the water of the showers sometimes cold. Nevertheless, all in all my stay at Dahab was more than great. I will never forget it. Thank you!!!

It was a very good hostel, the cold showers are the only negative thing about this hostel. There was only 1 warm shower.

The atmosphere is great: a hostel in the roof of a seven floors building, open air with lots of plants, cozy spots to have a tea talking to the rests of people... Really near (but not in) Tahrir Square, and well communicated. The staff is very kind and has no problem giving you all the information requested... Very recommended!

Great price, location would usually be excellent but it's now too near to the trouble. Staff friendly but be warned, they will try and scam you on rail tickets and food ordered to the hostel. Otherwise it's a nice place and excellent value for money.

Please what is this for a Hostel! My private bathroom hadn't hot water and the weather was so cold in the begining of januarySo the receptionist showed me another empty room where I could have a hot shower but there was a big hole instead of window.Well,I wondered which game is this!!!! And when I said to him at least put a plastic atached with scotch to cover the hole to have a real hot shower,He was not to agree with this So I proposed to do it myself. Then I left this hostel and my money back

Even though winter in Egypt is not like winter in Europe, it can still get quite cold - especially at night. This hostel has no heating whatsoever and everything except for the rooms is right under the stars - charmful perhaps, but I was just freezing. The place is also really filthy in some places. Good concept, great idea, but it seems like they haven't really quite succeeded with it just yet.

Nice place with very friendly staff but the toilets could really do with two cleanings per day and it would be great if all the showers were working.

We didn't actually get to stay in the hostel in the ed because my husband is Egyptian and apparently they have a 'no Arab' policy. However, when I called the hostel to make sure that we can stay there, I asked if they acknowledged a Brtish marriage certificate, my husband holds an Egyptian passport and that we were married in the UK only - all answers were yes, fine we can stay so I booked online via Hostel World. Very disappointed having got there and trekked up to the hostel we were told no.

My boyfriend and I stayed there six nights. This charming hostel is located right in the center yet very quiet and cozy. Special thanks to Mahmoud who was really kind, helpful, and hospitable. He is your man in Cairo!

Good place, very close to metro sadat and nasser, and cairo's life. Good panorama from the top and very friendly staff. I'm sure they never change the sheets, blankets and pillows. They organized good trip and other thing without pressure.I'm sure they never change the sheets, blankets and pillows. Why?
