Very steep staircase will leave you winded if you stay at the top of the hotel. Hostel is blocks away from Union Square and China Town and you can easily catch a bus to any part of town. there is a dusty and not very nice smell in the room, the floors are creaky, the windows cannot be locked and this made us feel very unsafe.
also, the fan above us was really noisy and disturbed us very much while we were trying to sleep.

The Dakota hotel... very good in SF, the staff was very kind and helpful, excellent location, a little bit noisy, but close to everything, has an old style elevator that add a kind of fun, also for 5 dollars a healthy dinner was served in its hostel partner around the corner.
