Booked one night and ended up staying 3. The woman who runs this hostel is so full of energy and happiness it's contagious. Home cooked meal every night that at least half the hostel attends adding to the inclusive atmosphere and the food doesn't stop coming. The beds are all set out in the dorm like a sleepover and it feels really homely. The staff are friendly and helpful, I can't recommend this place enough.

Had an amazing time at the family hostel, atmosphere was amazing and first well pressured hot shower I've had since being in Vietnam (3 weeks). There is definitely no privacy but that is almost part of its charm. I loved Dalat City combined with the hostel and couldn't recommend it more highly. Not for the nonlibral among you however! Definitely a drinking scene!
Stay here If you want to have a sociable , one of a kind experience. We had a great time . The Staff go out of their way to help you and ensure that you have a good time. On the other hand if you want a quiet time , with personal Space this will not be for you.
Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Such a wonderful place. A little bit cleaner and it would be perfect!
Can't recommend this hostel enough. As a lone traveller it was so nice to stay somewhere with a good atmosphere and the opportunity to socialise with others at family meal time. The food mama prepares is amazing - you will not go hungry!

Selling point here is the atmosphere and the wonderful staff that run the hostel. Mama and her family are so welcoming and brilliant fun, and family meals in the evening were a great way to get to know people, especially if travelling alone. Facilities are a little less modern than some of the other hostels in Dalat, but the atmosphere 100% makes up for this. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
One of the best stays, atmosphere-wise, during our entire 6-week trip. The staff is just so loving, you really feel like you're a member of the family. Lots of hugs and kisses. The daily dinners, where all guests are sitting at one big table, are excellent too. It makes it really easy to meet people. Not to mention the delicious food on the table! The dorms are small and there is little privacy, but the friendly atmosphere totally makes up for that. Highly recommended!
Such a good hostel! The atmosphere is incredible and mama is crazy in the best way!! I got fed so much I put on about 2kg..Loved it
staff and atmosphere make this place. You're greeted with lots of hugs and food and have big family dinners (not included in price) cons- slightly out of town, cramped rooms and a lot of people sharing a few showers.
Absolutely loved this hostel!! Mama is amazing and greets you with hugs and kisses and cooks the most amazing food. The cocktails are cheap and delicious and the banana pancakes are on tap and to die for. They even had the cutest duckling ever waddling around which was an added bonus. Stay here if you fancy something really fun and a bit different!
Not just a hostel but an experience! I arrived at 4am the morning of my booking and was shown to a bed and told I could sort everything out in the morning, true hospitality! Mama's dinners are to die for and her family make you feel welcome and at home.
BEST hostel you will ever find. You walk in and the amazing staff gives you hugs and kisses, Mama is wonderful and barely speaks English but dances and cooks and is the sweetheart of the place. Food is awesome, and the family dinner is always exciting. Don't miss this place, we didn't ever want to leave.

Do not miss out on staying here! Best atmosphere of any hostel I've stayed at, family vibes and extremely social. Dinner is so much food for your money and the drinks are so cheap! Canyoning trip is also a must. Thank you mama!
Loved it! You're greeted with a free welcome meal which is amazing after whatever distance you travelled to get there. I felt like a long lost child of the family. Overall very cosy and comfortable, wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Family hostel is like one big pyjama party. Al the beds or matrasses are stiff to each other, the ''mama'' of the hostel is feeding you all the time with bananas or noodle soup. At 5pm there is a ''familymeal'', wich is lovely. Mama doesn't speak any English, but here staff does. The bathrooms weren't that clean, but because the atmosphere is so good, it was not a big deal. Over here, we booked a easyrider trip over here, with Dalat Easyriders (wich was very, very nice).
Absolutely loved staying here. All the staff are all so friendly. When we arrived we were fed loads of food and fruit and were given so many hugs of mama. Most people did the canyoning trip- which was so much fun. We were nervous at first but turned out to be great! Every evening at 5pm mama makes food for everyone- they really treat you like family here! And they recently got two little ducklings- Hercules and Valentine, just so adorable.
This place was recommended by so many. Greeted by hugs from all the staff on arrival, so friendly! Take advantage of the family meal at 5 to meet everyone else in the hostel and to enjoy Mamas cooking! Amazing atmosphere and such amazing staff! Super comfy beds as well. Can't recommend this place enough, fantastic Vietnamese hospitality!
Favourite hostel I've ever stayed in. Mumma welcomed us with hugs and tea and food. I felt like I became part of their family with constant hugs and kisses. Absolutely lovely people running an amazing hostel! Mumma also cooks family dinner in the evening. Beds are not in typical dorm style but lots of mattresses of floor but very comfy. Showers are good. Would recommend staying here to everyone, felt genuinely sad leaving
Everybody loves Mama, And mama loves you back !
Dalat Family Hostel was hands down the best hostel I've stayed at in Vietnam! Mama and her staff are he most welcoming and incredible people, and leaving was sooooo hard! If you go to Dalat, staying in this hostel will undoubtedly make your trip 100 times better! Family meals are amazing, and I just couldn't fault this place!
