The staff was super friendly and very good in service, they are so helpful and very kind!! The rooms is clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. I would like to stay at the hostel again if going to Dali. =D
I had an awesome stay here - the staff were super friendly and really helpful, and I felt welcome straight away. My only suggestion would be tighter security - giving everyone a key to their dorm and providing lockable spaces for valuables would be great. Thanks Lily's!
Facilities are nice, but walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. It is located in the old town, but it's on the far end and the atmosphere is not as good as other hostels in the city. Friends stayed in Five Elements hostel, which was much cooler, cheaper, and just as close to the center of old town. Owner is super nice and helpful though, which makes this a good choice. All in all a good place, but others are better.
Really great location! The hostel is located not far away from the east gate (just around 15 minutes' walk) and very close to the center of the ancient town. If you travel from Lijiang to Dali, you can ask the driver to drop you off at the ancient town. East gate is usually where they stop. Also, the hostel was very quiet in the evening. We all had very good sleep. Owner was nice. Cleanses of the bed sheets can be improved, though. Not enough plugs in the 4-bed shared dorm.
I`ve spent three days in Lily's Garden, despite rainy weather i had a great time, also thanks to the beautiful atmosphere of the hostel. It's located far enough from noisy main street and close enough to go anywhere anytime. Rooms are really nice and causy, and calm, peaceful atmosphere allows to relax after intesive day of hiking, cycling or just walking around the city. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Next time in Dali definitely Lily's Garden again
Goes above and beyond the call of duty for guests. Very flexible, always courteous and helpful. Location is away from the main strip, but the area is more like the Dali of a few years ago before the rampant saturation of Chinese tourists that are turning everything into tacky tourist traps and flea markets.
Lovely hostel tucked nicely away from the bustle of the tourist streets. Run by great staff, mostly family giving a relaxed atmosphere, a good communal area leading to easy conversation. As in so many places the en-suite bathroom needs a little maintenance.
4 of us stayed here for 2 nights. Very good english spoken and then food is very good for a reasonable price. The owner was very helpful and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Situated in a quiet area of town but within a 5 minute walk from the main part of the old town

Lily is probably one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. There isn't a thing she won't do to help you out. The beds are very comfortable, there's a nice area where you can just hang out and have some coffee or tea. It's 5-10 minutes from the toursit area, which is good because the place is really quiet. Lily and her mother cook very good food and you are welcome to join them for dinner. Amazin place. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very kind and helpful, and despite being slightly hard to find at first, the location ended up being very convenient. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and although we didn't spend much time in the hostel, it was a nice place to go home to.
